Very simple and easy to use. Able to press a master link into place evenly without damaging the x-ring seals. This is one of those buy it once and keep it forever tools.

I have been installing motorcycle chain master links with a vice grip and a screw driver for about 40 years now I finally bought this link press from Motion Pro. It made the job so easy it was just simple and quick. I should have bought one years ago. I’m 64 and still riding my motorcycles. Too old not to have tools that make maintenance so much easier. Great product. Buy one you won’t regret it.

I have the other larger steel Motion Pro chain tool that also peens the master link rivets. I was carrying that one in my tool pouch on rides, along with two standard 525 links and a clip style master and a small hand file. That requires more tools to use, was heavier and bulkier. But this super compact tool works perfect for pressing out a link after I file the heads. And I can easily press on a clip style master. It obviously won't do rivet style master links. But this works perfect for a trail side repair with a clip style link. Anyone that says it bends or breaks is using too much force. Once I had enough of the rivet heads filed down, this tool popped the link pins out with easy. And once I had the new master link lined up, that went on with ease too.

Fine tool all in all but not great for 530 series chain install because as another reviewer stated, the link is a bit too wide to fit in the tool. You can use a mallet to jam it into place in a pinch as I just did but I wouldn't want to do it that way as a standard practice. Its fine for removal since the link is already pressed and there is room to fit the link in the tool at that point without issue.

$34 spent only to have to grind and punch the pin through anyway. Save yourself the money so you don't waste it like I did and get something else.

Much cheaper than a DID tool and works the same. Tool had more than enough width for a ninja 300 chain.

Used this tool last night to install a new 520 chain on my dual-sport.It pushed the link out of my old chain (after grinding the pin heads off) quickly and easily.Installing the new (o-ring) side plate was so easy. This tool allows for extremely precise movement so that the o-rings are not damaged by crushing.Buy the original MotionPro, and enjoy instead of dreading, chain replacement.

It's a really nice tool, but I had to file the pressing side about 3 mm to 28mm to fit an RK Racing 530 chain. It takes about an hour to do by hand, but it wouldn't very take long if you use a power grinder.
