Do not buy this shift fork. The quality is terrible and the casting is too large to work with the other fork. When assembled, the shift forks do not clear each other and will not allow for proper operation. Do yourself a favor and buy the OEM part.

Needed extensive machining and grinding. This is not a replace it and your good to go item. I purchased the 1-2, as well as the 3-4 shift fork and they both required about four hours total to make it work properly. The casting where the rod pass through the open end of the fork as well as the potion they bypass each other was cast too thick. It would bind up solid. One fork is mean to slide under another slightly at one point to reach it’s detent, and that was NEVER going to happen without taking a good 1/8 of material off. They seem to be cast of some pretty decent metal so I expect the will outlast the truck. Shifts great after a little modification to get them closer to OE specs. If you expect this going in, the price is not bad. Cheaper than a new transmission. I’d buy it again if I had to do another one.

$35 fix, ordered it on thurs got it on friday.But as stated by another buyer i did have to dremel it to clear the 3rd and 4th gear fork. Not hard but had to install and remove a few times to get the clearance needed. Works great now.

Bought it in 2018 and got 7 months and it failed leaving me without 1st and 2nd gear again. Install was easy with no grinding like others have had to do. Just a hassle to have to replace it again when the original lasted 27 years and this one for just short of 7 months. But going to buy another one as it could just be a flawed casting and the price is less than I can get it anywhere for less.
