I bought this for my son’s go kart so we could have a gps speedometer paired with a trail tech vapor. It’s easier than figuring out how to get a magnetic pickup mounted and it will read the speed no matter what tire size we change to. At first I simply wired it up to the vapor speedometer wires and it didn’t work. I realized the the vapor speedometer works on a simple reed switch closing with the magnet passing, so wired a reed switch relay onto the VSS wire outputs and then into the speedometer wires. Works perfectly now. The wiring instructions were frankly terrible for the unit so I knocked off a star for that. Otherwise a good low priced alternative to the GPS speedometers for motorcycle/ATVs with some tinkering.

This is a decent adapter if you buy their specific speedo kit. Don't try to use it with anything else tho.

We installed this in one of our race cars that doesn't have a working speedo (the speedo was originally a cable based speedo and we no longer have a transmission that supports cable speedos) and it works fine. As long as you have a compatible gauge; the installation takes 5 minutes or less. Basically you plug it in and run the wire, mount the little box and you are done.Not much else to say here; it works as intended to give you a speedo in a car that doesn't have a compatible output method or gauge for your swap kit.If this review helped you at all; please mark it helpful!
