For peace of mind. Under different conditions. Allows parking options, that are more convenient. E.g., on a wet/soft lawn. Soft asphalt, etc.If thinking this item unnecessary, or awkward. Consider the process, expense. And, regret. When having to work through 'avoidable' repairs. This kickstand pad, helps avoid my purchasing parts, body/paint work, etc. For a Harley-Davidson. So, it can be regarded as 'high-value'.My black kickstand pad: Typically, found by 'feeling around' the bottom. Of a dark saddlebag. Inconvenient. And, troublesome. Since need to deploy, is typically more immediate. Problem solved; 2nd kickstand pad purchased. In a 'bright' color.

I use this to prevent the kickstand on my beach cruiser bicycle from sinking into the sand so that my bike doesn't fall over. It works wonderfully for this purpose, my bike has not fallen over since I got this. I got pink to match my Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville yellow and pink bicycle. I keep this in my bike basket when not in use so that I always have it. It's a lifesaver!

This was such a good product that when I took my bike in for servicing, the mechanics stole it from under the rear seat compartment.

Pad fit my kickstand well. It is on the small side but will keep a kickstand from sinking in hot asphalt or mud if it isn't too deep. Fits great into saddlebag

Put off buying one of these bc I feel like I mostly park on the street anyway and if I'm on grass I can usually find a rock or something nearby. Now that I have it I'm really glad, it works well not just on grass and dirt but also uneven concrete and brick sidewalks that are falling apart downtown.
