Recently walked away from Xfinity with a two year contract, and a $15/mo modem rental. Found this online, took a chance on the refurbished. I know nothing about Doc Sis and all the rest, but I knew I had a low-level plan, so an older modem model would probably be just fine.And this does work fine for my low-level plan -- I unplugged the Xfinity modem, installed this one, using the App, and was back online in 15-20 minutes total. Then I followed included instructions to get on xfinity site and change the default address and password to that of my old modem, so I did not have to update stuff on all the devices. Very happy with the purchase, and in about half a year or so, it will have paid for itself

This is not a compensated review ,I read all reviews and sorted them out, I use the for my cable. Set up was very easy if you follow instructions, namely use same WiFi name, and password once it all set up, I went to admin, set for old name. Then same password.before I could exit out my ring camera came back on line.if you have ring you already know go to camera push button, this way none of that it see the same credentials , then change password. Remember to save before exit the modem router combination . Thank you to the other 2 reviews who gave details ok watching tv later
