I purchased this for my wood pellet grill. Before I ordered this, I was trying to use lanterns, solar spotlights and even magnetic flashlights to light up the grill. None of these allowed me to place the light evenly onto the grilling surface as well as this simple fix.Following the directions, I wrapped the elastic belt of the light around the round handle of my grill and latched it fairly tight. It needs to be pretty tight so that the rubber belt doesn't slip when you are making adjustments on the lamp. Once you have it mounted the light stays firmly in place when opening and closing the lid and using the pivot feature you can easily adjust the beam up and down or left to right to your liking.The light is small and weighs only a few ounces it basically disappears on the handle and has no impact when you are lifting or closing the lid. I do wish the light was rechargeable using a USB connector. But I'm going to try and use high energy Lithium batteries to maintain the brightness longer and reduce the amount of battery changes to a minimum.This light creates a diffuse bright white beam using 5 LED's from directly above the food so you can see colors accurately and texture clearly and it is evenly lit with few shadows. If you take your grilling serious, you have to have good even light.This simple, economical light works very well when you are cooking outside in the dark. It sits there ready for you to turn it on and start cooking. Even when there is general lighting around the cooking area, in many cases it creates shadows or doesn't illuminate the food on the grill adequately. Good lighting is key in being able to judge how things are cooked. It's a fine line between a rare and overdone steak. This is a great light to get for yourself or give as a present.

I purchased one of these lights a year ago from Home Depot. After a month, it suddenly stopped working. I couldn't find my receipt to return it to the company. It’s a great light when it was working. I decided to give it another try and buy one through Amazon.With my 2nd light, I put in batteries, it worked, I put it on my barbecue, the next day it would not work. The light did not get wet since it was under cover, but it was cold overnight probably low 40s. This light appears to be super sensitive to cold. It is definitely not an outdoor light.
