Very solid construction. The bearing spins freely and it fits my lathe perfectly. A little caution: The point is very sharp (as it should be) take care when handling not to get scratched.

I have turned quite a few items on my 12x18" wood lathe with this live center. Its superior to the weird spur live center that came with my lathe.Because of the long taper, I can get close to almost the entire tailstock side of the workpiece.It also ran quite smoothly when I put on rough unbalanced blanks, better than the factory live center that came with my lathe.
