It worked for my need. I put it on heavy and after a rain it turned back white again until it dried back but did NOT weaken the hold. I suspect I will buy this again next year for new projects. I like that it is made in USA and animal friendly.

Works great but if you plan to spray this on an area that gets foot traffic, it doesn't hold. Great for like flower beds or stuff.

We just moved into a newly built house. Landscaping was finished a couple of weeks ago. There are some mulched areas of concern, so we decided to try mulch glue to prevent mulch from being washed down to the walkway and alley. We tried three different mulch glues, so this is sort of a comparative experience of application. We haven’t had any significant rain for two weeks, and it’s not coming anytime soon, so we don’t know how the glue will really hold the mulch together in heavy rain.Preparation. This mulch glue comes in a 1-gallon jug. It arrived nicely packed, with instructions. It has to be diluted for application. There’s some confusion on how to dilute it as Instructions say it makes up to 2 gallons, and later I found that it makes up to 3.5 gallons. I suggest using gloves and cleaning the area around immediately. We got some drops on the pavers, and it took us some time to clean them later. Out of three mulch glues I tried, this one was the messiest. Application. I went with a 1:2 dilution ratio, and it was nearly impossible to spray it with the sprayer. The water can application was easier, but cleaning the water can head took longer than the application itself. Once you spray it, it turns white, so you can clearly see missed spots. There were some spots wet from watering, which stayed white-spotted for a week. It clears once it’s dry within a few hours, with no effect on the color of mulch. After drying, the glue seems to create some kind of film covering the mulch. The thicker the application, the thicker the film. It stands well against regular watering - and we water our new plants a lot. However, if you step on mulch covered with glue or drag a water hose over it, it breaks. That’s probably understandable, so we are just waiting for a big rain to come to see the level of protection this glue will provide.Out of the three brands of mulch glue we used, this one appears to be the least expensive per square foot. I also like that it's USA-made and pet-friendly. Great value for money, but we’ll see if it's worth it after the rains come.

Why such rave reviews. I applied this evenly and several coats. First rain and it was gone. Smelled like a kid craft glue.

We loved this we used it on the mulch around our kids play set to keep the mulch in place that way it would’t end up everywhere

Did a good job. I laid it on my gravel nice and thick, and evenly, after choosing a few days of decent weather, not too hot and no rain. I am happy with the result. Follow the directions and don't skimp; you'll be happy with the results.

Starting off with the disclaimer that I have never used mulch glue before, and so it is hard to rate this one. For that reason, I gave the product 3 stars instead of 2 stars. (In case all mulch glues suffer from some of my criticisms of this one.)As others have noted, the glue is a thick, white liquid. The minimal instructions on the bottle indicate to dilute it 1:1 (i.e. to 50% its original concentration) and to "apply" it to compacted aggregate. It is implied that it can be applied with a spray bottle. (Step 5 is "Triple rinse the sprayer/applicator to clean.") Consistent with other users, I found that the 1:1 diluted glue is too thick to apply using a spray bottle. I was not about to use glue in my garden pressure sprayer, and potentially ruin it for subsequent use. So I used a squirt bottle, and applied in a tight zig-zag pattern. (see 1st and 2nd photos) But it makes sense to me that using a spray bottle would be the ideal way to apply the glue since a spray bottle would deliver (in theory) a more continuous coverage of the mulch with glue. My squirt bottle method applies big drops as opposed to a mist. To make up for the hypothesized deficiency associated with using a squirt bottle, I applied the product heavily. The application rate listed on the product bottle is 1 gallon per 200 sq ft. I would guess that I applied the glue at 5-10X that application rate.I am using this mulch on a pathway. It surrounds large stepping stones. (see 3rd and 4th photos) How well does the product hold mulch in place? Hard to judge, especially because I used a squirt bottle to apply it, and applied it a 5-10X the rate listed on the bottle. On the one hand, I did not follow the directions, which makes my evaluation suspect. On the other hand, I could not follow the instructions (to use a sprayer), and more glue should be better - right? The mulch is stuck together to a degree. You can tell that the glue was applied by the feel of the mulch. I would guess that normal winds would not disturb the glued mulch. It is no match for digging by squirrels, I found. It has not rained in the 2 weeks since I applied it, so I don't know if it would hold through a strong rain shower. If my path were on a grade (not level), then I have doubts that it would. Although I try to step on the stones rather than the surrounding mulch, my dogs step wherever they please. Perhaps that is why there is some loose mulch on the stones that was not present there when I applied the product. Suffice it to say that I am disappointed in the performance of this product. But I hope to test the glue on a different area that is on a grade, since I have had issues with the mulch washing away in that area in the past. If the glue helps, I'll return to amend this review. Maybe I'll try diluting the glue more than 1:1 (like another user) so that it can be applied more uniformly. This approach might have the side benefit of allowing the glue to sink into the mulch beneath the surface. Of course, greater dilution could reduce the effectiveness of the glue, too. Clearly, the manufacturer should give application instructions that the normal user can follow!A final comment about the manufacturer's claim of "Pet Safe". That sounds great, of course, but I doubt that there is any standard in the industry for "pet safe". Does any agency regulate the "pet safe" designation or enforce its use? Importantly, nowhere on the product bottle is there a list of ingredients. I would be more comfortable using this product around pets if there were a list of ingredients that I could look up.
