So, I am actually using this to start all of my seedlings indoors as I do a large garden every year. I made a box with reflective material on the inside, cut a hole for the light, and it has worked absolutely perfectly for all of my flower and vegetable seedlings. It's much brighter and much more cost effective than buying a grow light marketed towards regular plants. It's small, but it is very mighty! I can't even look at it out of the corner of my eye it's so bright and mimics sunlight so well. I have to handle all of my plants with a shield! I will likely be buying more of these.

This is a pretty clever product. I have a bunch of plants and recently was gifted one of those "mushroom box" things where the edible mushroom bloom out of the side. I can't really compare with and without the light but I have all my plants and now mushroom next to each other. It is very bright, not hot at all. So far I like it.

I tried to use this for several of my houseplants and herb gardens without seeing too much luck. Too many variables to consider.Overall the construction is okay, but the plastic isn't the strongest, and took some juggling to get it into the provided socket.

There are several issues with this light.Firstly, it doesn't work as packaged - the corded socket is rubberized (probably to help with moisture rating) so you really have to crank the bulb down into the socket. If it doesn't make contact then it doesn't work.I used a drop light to test it with, and the bulb works fine. The light isn't as bright as advertised (1055 lumens) and the color isn't as blue as they say (6500K). It's about 4500K and 850 lumens. There are no instructions and the timer buttons aren't labeled.I was curious if I could get the bulb screwed down into the rubberized socket, thinking it would seal it to some degree when the bulb's lens fell off.I cannot recommend this light.

The only other supplier for this type of bulb that I've found is Midwest Supply. The prices are the same and the units look similar. This bulb does offer some better options though:This bulb has 108 LEDs as opposed to 48This bulb is 6500 kelvin which is right in the middle for the wavelengths that mushrooms likeThis bulb is 1055 lumens as opposed to 900The manufacturer claims that it has a 5 year lifespan instead of 3If you're with Prime, you get free shippingThere were no directions at all.The picture shows it coming with a light socket to plug adapter. It arrived with a cord that has an inline power/timer button. This might be helpful for some. You can turn it on/off or set it to run 8/12/16 hours.I use smart plugs to turn the light on and off in my fruiting room. The problem is that when the power goes out and comes on, the light does not automatically turn the bulb on. It's not a big deal. I can buy a $3 adapter or use another fixture. One thing that was a downside was that it didn't work out of the box.I put the mushroom bulb in a lamp and the bulb worked.I put a regular lightbulb into the cord socket and that worked.???????AFTER I UNPLUGGED IT, I stuck my finger into the bottom of the socket and gently bent the brass contact up a little so the bulb base would make better contact. BINGO...it worked fine after that.Overall, as a professional mycologist, I would say it's a good deal and a good product.
