To me, the placement of the flap where you insert the page is important because that is where the wear and tear from flippling the pages usually happens.

I needed this for piano and vocal music I am currently working on.I work off a lot of copied/printed music these days, and stacks of music in folders is not ideal. This helps to keep everything visible, playable and you can still make notes right in the music.Perfect - only thing I wish was a larger capacity.

I have another binder like this that has only 2 flaps, a top and bottom, whereas this one has 3, the extra being on the outside edge of the sheet music. The thing I like about this one is it feels sturdier than the 2-edge design because of the crimping on the flaps, which doesn't compress down like the non-flap areas do, so the thickness makes it feel stronger. I don't yet know if that is a good or bad thing, but right now I'm thinking it's sturdier. It's also easier to get sheets in and out of this three-edge design, not so much because there's 3 edges, but because the flaps are shorter than the full width or length of the page, so you can grab them easier and bend them up to get the page in. With the 2-edged design, at least the one I have, the flap covers the entire width of the page, top and bottom, and is sealed at the ends. The plastic is so thin, you have to worry you're going to rip it if your'e not gentle, so bending the flaps up is a little more delicate of an operation vs what I feel comfortable doing with this 3-edged design. For those reasons I should like this one better, but the one thing I don't like is glare off the page, and that's where this one is less good. That extra flap on the side, for all its benefits, produces more glare and also interferes with note taking along the edge. These aren't huge issues so right now I'm rating this binder the same as the 2-edged one I reviewed; 4 stars. This one is slightly cheaper by around $2 or $3, but has 10 fewer pages. I do like the black cover on this one better than the white cover of the other one.Since they're running neck and neck at the moment, the one thing that would put this ahead of the other one would be to have some inside pockets for the handouts that invariably come along. I have numerous little sight-reading exercises my teacher has passed out that are flopping around the bottom of my satchel. Some pockets would be ideal for those types of things.Overall it's a good purchase for organizing those things that come on 8.5" x 11" paper.

Wonderful item, just as pictured. Sturdy. Helps keep the sheet music my son gets at school all in one place, I also love how we can easily move sheets around to accommodate playing order for a concert.

Love this easy to use notebook to organize my music on a weekly basis. So easy to remove and add music. I love that I can write directly on the page of music while it is held firmly in place! Wish I had purchased this decades ago!

There are only a few things this product needs to do, and it does them well. Overall, the total number of sheets is reasonable (30 sleeves holding 60 pages) - the binder holds a lot of music but it is not so thick that is is cumbersome on the piano rack. The binder sits firmly in place and holds the pages nicely without them sliding down or collapsing. The ring style binder is large enough to help with quickly flipping the page. Most importantly the page design with stiffened edges allows for both easy access to insert sheet music and for simple, accurate page turning.Another advantage is that the binder lies flat when open. That way, the entire page is clearly visible and you don't have to strain to see the sheet music. This binder is a great choice and value for sheet music. I very much recommend it.

This folio has plastic protective slipcovers that you put your sheet music into, in order to protect it from the weather and other sources of damage. You can easily fit five or six sheets into each cover without crowding or difficulty, so you can carry way more music than the nominal 60 sheets, as long as you're willing to go to the effort to fish out the sheets you want to use immediately. Really great value!

I got this for my band student after a near-loss of their band folder caused a mild panic (as the school charges $2 per sheet to reprint music and it was loaded down) - now i make a copy of everything and keep it in this for them at home - if something goes missing or gets loaned out i can make my own copies for them & everything is snugly secured here for at home practice as well. I have been told it isn't a great binder for using at school because the little flappies don't stand up super well to lots of flipping, but it's fine for what we needed it for
