This bridge needed a bit of sanding to get it to match the shape of my mandolin, but it wasn't too bad. I used a technique that Frank Ford shows on his website to scallop the underside of the bridge which makes the sanding part go much faster. In all it took about 15 minutes to shape it to fit. For reference the middle was touching, and the ends were a bit over 1mm off the top when I started. In the end it puts the strings about 1.5mm's lower than the old bridge. This is not a bad thing at all. My action needed to be a little lower. Now I have the saddle up on the posts a bit where I had the saddle slammed to the bottom before.I like the "blind" posts. On my old bridge the post holes were drilled through the saddle. The best part is that this one isn't cracked like my old one!

Purchased this to replace the bridge on a mandolin that I have. Very impressed with the quality. Once I fitted the bridge to the mandolin's top and got it dialed in, my mandolin sounds and plays a lot better. With any mandolin bridge replacements or upgrades, you need to fit the base of the bridge to the mandolin's top to do the job right. There are tons of YouTube videos on how to do this. Overall very satisfied with it and would purchase another if I would happen to replace a bridge on another mandolin.

First, I held off trying to replace my cracked bridge for nearly two years after I received this. I had been anticipating having to do a lot of shaping and smoothing to get this to conform to the curvature of the body of my mandolin.I finally decided to bite the bullet and give it a go.I first removed the saddle and slid just the footing under the strings up against the cracked bridge. Amazingly I found that it was almost a perfect fit with just the slightest gap in the center - but I figured that once the bridge was in place and the strings tightened that the gap would disappear, and I was right.Fits great, my old mandolin sounds so much better with a solid, well built rosewood bridge.

Actually better quality than I might have expected for the price. Good, fairly dense rosewood, smooth finish. Used on a modest instrument with minor modification for appearance in a professional shop. Fine for those instruments that don’t warrant a $30 bridge.

Nice product. Measurements as described. The bridge had a few rough areas but cleaned up nicely. The bridge does require fitting to the mandolin top. Not difficult to do just take time to do the work properly.

Own a basic Mandolin and decided to upgrade the bridge. Not disappointed! Definitely improved overall tone.

Die Anpassung erfordert etwas Kow-How, dann klingt der Steg aber wunderbar.

Wasn't expecting much for the price, but had nothing to lose as the old bridge was warped to the point of being unplayable. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the bridge fit snug to the body and after a bit of fiddling to get the placement right, my Mando sounds better than when I first bought it. I didn't even have to sand the base.Been on for over a year now and still going strongEdit - oh my lord, just checked and it's actually over 3 years. Where did the time go??
