Wet the wall, mixed one to one. Done in one day. Now lets talk about the price. You should be able to find this locally for maybe 20 bucks. I couldnt find it anywhere and time was ticking to get this job done. Money well spent!

Western hydrated lime is the best product I have found for making lime based mortar for repairs of antique walls where soft, rather than hard Portland, mortars are required. I also mix it for parging and plaster work and for white-washing as well. Add some Akryl 70 for good adhesion and for pointing one part white Portland in nine parts works well.

This 50 lbs bag of lime worked REALLY well! We first tried it on our fireplace and it turned out amazing!!! Then we decided to try it on the front of our house and it only took 2 days to complete! We are extremely happy with it and encourage others to try it. For both the fireplace and front of our house we used only half a bag! We have so much left over to paint our cinder block wall in our backyard!Be very cautious when opening the bag and mixing the product. I researched it and also read the bag and it states that breathing the powder can cause cancer and can irritate the skin and eyes so DEFINITELY wear a proper respirator, goggles and gloves.

Took only one bag to cover my home! Looks terrific and still let’s the brick breathe, unlike paint. Plus reduces mold and the sticky green pollen in the spring doesn’t stick to it. Cheaper and sanitary! 💙

I liked that the manufacturer of the kit supplied the link for me to buy this material because I searched for about an hour and came up with zip. Therre are other suppliers that repackage this product and sell it by the gram, it seems. I guess if one is making tortilla's only a smidgeon is needed. However for a 1500# oven with 4 inches of rendered insulated concrete, one needs a much greater amount. Thanks Mutual Industries for filling my order quickly. Even though the price is greater than a bag of garden lime!

I used this hydrated lime to limewash my brick house. It turned out awesome will post more pictures when I get a couple more things finished. We wanted some brick to show through but it would be pretty easy to get your house solid white.
