This hard shell case is indeed a hard shell case. The case itself is quite large. I fit my square Jackie O extra large sunglasses in it. With a little maneuvering they fit without crushing them. So the size is good for XL sunglasses. I did purchase the deep and rounded case. There are two different styles.In addition, the wine red color is very nice and very deep. As mentioned, the case is actually a very hard, large case. Therefore, it will take up a lot of space in your purse. More good news, it comes with a soft cloth to clean the lenses. Also VERY COOL, there is a small bag to put your lenses in if you so desire.It came flawless without a mark on it-- no rips or smudges. I would recommend this product and consider it a good buy.If you're are looking for an extra large hard shell, attractive sunglasses case, then this case just might be for you. I hope that I have made it easier for you to decide on your next hard shell sunglass case for your extra large sunglasses. Happy shopping.

I liked the color, the size, the cleaning cloth. Fits my glasses, clip on sunglasses and contact lens case. I get the hard case for traveling so the glasses can't get mushed. Opens easily and shuts tight

For the price, I wasn't sure if this would last. Two years later, it still looks great and works well. It holds my daughter's extra large glasses. I would definitely buy it again.

I purchased the large black case with the light blue interior. It's spacious enough for my large sunglasses that normally don't fit in any other case and I can tell that they are not compromised in any way even though they don't seem to move much. The fit is perfect. The case seems sturdy enough even though the lid can move easily side to side . I tried this in order to see if the case is sturdy and if there is a chance that it will open easily. All of my other cases do do move at all in this manner when shut , including the turquoise one that I bought from this same company , which is beautiful and amazingly sturdy. Just an amazing case that I have had for a while now and love it !. That is why I opted to purchase the black one. Honestly , I'm not that concerned of the little side to side movement ,it is after all a very large case and it's sort of something to be expected. The hinges seem pretty good. It arrived in an envelope and it wasn't in any box at all yet nothing happened to it. In fact when I picked up the shipping envelope I could immediately tell it was this case. I was so worried it would be damaged in some way. Let's face it , we all know how these packages are handled . Fortunately it is fine, looks great and I think proved itself that it can handle anything other than a car running over it or a Husky using it as a chew toy.

As noted in some other reviews, this seems larger than the measurements provided. The listing says "Inside Inch: 2 1/2" W x 5 3/4" L x 2 1/4" H." With my tape measure I sorta get the same measurements for length and width when I measure the MAXIMUM length and width inside. But the height measurement they provide, 2.25", is the MINIMUM height on the inside (measuring perpendicular to the hinge), so the maximum height is way more than that. It's hard to measure the inside height since you'd have to close the case but I'd estimate the maximum height to be around 3". This case is roomy enough for my big Oliver Peoples shades and they feel very protected! The case is solid and the spring is tight (watch your fingers!) so I'm not worried it'll pop open if I jostle them around, shove something in my purse that gets wedged between the top and bottom of the case, or anything like that. It is larger than the case my sunglasses came with and takes up a lot of room in a smaller purse. The bronze color is attractive and while it shows some scratches as little dents the actual material on the outside hasn't broken. I'll update this review if I have problems with durability. If my memory serves me right it came with a cleaning cloth but I left the one that came with my shades in there so I can't remember for sure! A very tiny clear sticker on the bottom says Made in China.

Very nice case. The color is great. It’s rather large—suitable for oversized, curved sunglasses. But I’m putting my reading glasses in it anyway. Will be easy to find in my purse.
