Was looking for a small book shelf for under my nightstand. This was very easy to assemble in less than 10 minutes and is sturdy piece. Great price and shipped quickly. Love the wood and metal look. Very happy with purchase

As you can see, this shelf turned out nicely and looks great with my books in it! I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the assembly was a little wonky. I don't think it says anywhere that you *need* a power drill to put this together, but I think it would be really difficult without one and might take quite a long time. I started out following the instructions as written, but I saw that it was going to be a huge pain to get the screws to line up. Even after I grabbed my drill, they actually still aren't perfect. There are two that I could not get completely flush to the wood, the drill head is sticking out by a 1/4 inch or so. However, the shelf is fine structurally and you can't see the screws after you've put it on a surface and set it up with book, etc. so I am fine with it, just a bit of a head's up to other purchasers.

The wood cracked as soon as the screws went in, and no, they were not over-tightened.

This bookshelf was really difficult to put together as many other reviewers noted. The metal pieces do not fit together correctly and I had to buy different hardware to put it together as the metal holes for the screws were crooked... (the included screws are long enough to hit the side of the internal structures due to the unevenness; and would have stuck out a good centimeter if left alone). The metal base is super wobbly when put together. The wooden pieces are constructed as one unit and the included holes were misaligned; so the wood splinters when putting it together. Finally, there are no connection pieces between the wood and the metal so the wood part actually slips down between the metal and I had to apply some glue tape to bind the metal and wood together. All in all, I would have returned this unit but it isn't worth the effort/packaging to deconstuct it and send it back.

My husband had stacks of books all over his side table, and this book holder helped to organize that table so well. I highly recommend it!

It sits on top of my PC case and handily holds books while still providing space beneath for other items.The fit and finish for the metal portions leaves a little to be desired as some of the corners are fairly sharp. However, it was very easy to assemble and sturdy for purpose.
