I had originally ordered another manufacturer's product that was almost double the price of this one. That one got delayed in transit, so I found this one that had good reviews and which looked very comparable to the more expensive one, so I decided to try it. This came in one day, and then the one that was delayed showed up the same day as well. It gave me an opportunity to compare this one with the higher-priced one, and they seemed identical in thickness and overall quality. The only difference was that the other one came with two plugs to plug the open ends once it is installed, but I didn't see this any anything that I really needed. Not only was I pleasantly surprised at the quality of this seal, the installation turned out to be much easier than I had anticipated. While there were many reviews that said the installation was easy, there were also many that said how long it took them and how much effort it was to push it through the track. I can only report on my experience, which was much better than I expected. After removing the old seal I used a wire brush to clean the T tracks as much as I could, and make sure that there were no areas of the track that were crimped and needed to be widened back to their original width. I then sprayed the two tracks thoroughly with a silicone/teflon spray. THen, while my wife and neighbor helped pull it along, I fed in the new seal from the side, making sure the "T" part of the seal stayed in the track. It went in smoothly and took about 10 minutes to get it all the way in. So unlike some people, my experience in doing this was very good, and I am very happy with the final result and the quality of the installed seal.

Bought 16 ft. length for 5/16 in. track and am very pleased with the quality. Seems *much* more durable than the seal it replaced, which was the kind that does not have the built-in tube.As other reviewers have said, it can be hard to install--especially for one person.I first tried installing it using soapy water as a lubricant but that did not work well for me. On the next attempt, I first lubed the track with L. C. Wax ALUMASLICK aluminum libricant spray. That worked really well but I think most lubricant sprays would work well. I also used lightweight spring clamps to hold the seal into a U shape so it would feed into the track correctly. I also put a support under the seal to keep it level. The clamps and support enabled the seal to feed into the track nicely. I installed by myself in about an hour. With two people, the clamps would be unnecessary and the installation should be *much* quicker and easier.Would definitely buy again.

Took 5 days to get to shipper. The 1/4" t-end did measure 1/4". It was not as thick as the one I removed. I have some concerns it may twist in the channel and pop out. It was hard to install by myself but got the job done with the help of some clamps to hold it up level to feed it into the track. I got my two 9' doors out of the 20 foot length. The seal at the concrete is good. I did adjust the garage door opener downward travel because this one is thicker than old style that was removed. Time will tell how well it holds up.

Works great -tough to install. REALLY tough to slide thru the track. In fairness, I had very limited space at the feed end to work with. I believe this was the main reason it was so tough to slide it along the track. Tried several different lubricants but nothing helped. Just had to barely inch it along - even working with 2 people. Looks and works great once installed.

Have had others that didn’t or wouldn’t conform to our door properly. Easy to install, very rugged and well made! Seals completely and price is also awesome!

I ordered the one with 1/4" rail, smaller than 5/16 so as to glide easier in the tracks. Sprayed soap solution to the track and it glides easily end-to-end. My garage door is 9 feet wide. I have to adjust the garage door motor a little bit as this seal is thicker than the original. Just finished installing it and it took an active 30 minutes by myself. The jury is still out on how long this seal will last. The original seal was ripped after 5 years.

In theory and design this is a superior product, when compared to the simple U type with no inner o tube, however, a word of caution... If your garage door floor, the part that makes contact with the above seal, is uneven by more than 1/4" you will end up with air gaps. In my case the floor was higher in the middle and one corner was approx. 1/2" lower, the other 1/4" and so I ended with 2 air gaps and so rather than remove this new seal I choose to get a bag of patching cement and made it even. The problem is that this better design doesn't compress very well...Too much consistency. A single U seal, with no o inner tube, would have close the gaps much better, by squashing more. This house is 20 years old, and I don't remember seeing air gaps when new. Have fun

Reasonably priced, quick shipping & it didn’t just slide in easily. To me, that’s good because it won’t have the tendency to move, like others. Thank you!CJ

Bought the ‎"5/16 Inch T-End, 20FT Long" to replace a single layer seal based on the reviews and the durable-looking design. Read reviews and looked up some videos on how to install. The material is much thicker than the old seal, and getting half a foot of it into a u-shape to slide it into the tracks takes some effort, especially if you have limited space within which to do it.After removing the old seal, cleaning out the tracks, soaping them up with a slip solution (dish soap and water in a spray bottle...I tried PTFE lube first, but it didn't slide), and finding the best position of the garage door to guide the seal into the grooves, the process went smoothly. Spraying the seal half a foot at a time with slip solution as it went into the tracks helped, as did having two people pulling it across the door. The garage door closed nicely on the new, thicker seal. All told it took some trial and error and about an hour and a half to complete. Recommended.

Ordered this for my older garage door. I was intrigued by the number of other seals that had the round rubber tubing inside. This one being by far the least expensive, I thought that from the pictures and other reviews it might be "good enough".While I can't speak about the more expensive brands available, I can say that what showed up was indeed very good. It is made of thick high quality rubber through and through. It is heavy for sure and for me I was more than impressed. Sometimes you spend your money and consider it a waste. Sometimes you spend your money and consider it money well spent. This is easily one of those instances. As for length, I ordered the 16 foot version with the 1/4 inch T-ends. It is extremely important to measure the width of the T-ends. It is heavy and even with using silicone spray to lubricate the rubber and the tracks themselves, it took awhile to unwind and pull bit by bit through the tracks. I was pleasantly surprised that by the time I had it installed, that it gave me 8 inches to spare. It seals great. I needed to reset my garage door because it kept reversing at the bottom. That is how much "thicker" it is compared to a traditional seal. Instead of being flat, it holds up the door at the bottom and provides an effective barrier. Exactly what I was hoping for. It should hold up for a long, long time, since it doesn't get crushed every time the door closes.I find it a relief to be able to purchase something that fulfills a need, is better than expected and also happened to be the least expensive option I could find. Good job.

Overall compared to what you get in the big box retailer it is good value for money. The rubber/plastic is thick enough and flexible to last the cold weather and the continous opening and closing. It helped seal the spaces where my garage floor is lower. In same cases the difference is as much as 1/4" drepression. Sliding the seal into the old frame is very hard work and needs a lot of wd40 for encouragement. It took about 30 minutes and two of us to install.

Works ideally, installation was a little difficult with only one person but the product itself is great

I used the 1/4", even though my track was 5/16". I saw so many people saying it was tough to pull the weatherstrip through, I figured there's not that much difference between a 1/4" and 516", it's just 1/16", so I got the smaller one. Glad I did, was a 10 minute job. I did have help, just to guide it into the track as I pulled (with a little WD-40). But it went right in and fit well. Quality product, just like the other reviews say. Make it easy on yourself and get the 1/4" regardless of which track it has. Recommended. Oh, and my door is 8 feet wide, there's enough on this 16 foot roll to do 2 doors, it was over 16 feet.
