The supposedly sturdy covers are not, they are flimsy and barely stronger than paper. Also, they advertise cardboard covers to lure you into expecting that degree of firmness, but what it is a thin cardboard color sheet that has a coating on the other side that adds a smidge of reinforcement. It is the kind of coating that is hard to write on, like happens in greeting cards, so if you routinely write on your covers, those sides are worthless unless you have a hard surface and a ball point pen (forget about pencil, rollerball, felt tip, etc.).
