This is a pretty good kit for teaching weaving. The directions are fairly straight forward with the exception of how to get it off the loom.We loved the projects, they are very pretty. But i was disappointed that we didn’t discover that we didn’t have all the right yarns, but instead had double of one color and none of another. The first two projects gave excellent instructions for the pattern. The last project we had to wing it - the directions for cuts of yarn did NOT match the pattern shown. But we figured out work arounds, and the three grandsons are very happy with their finished products!

They say that it's easy to do but my 8-year-old had a lot of trouble figuring it out that's the only reason why I'm sending it back I think it's an awesome art project but not for my son thank you so much Amazon is number one.

The Weaving Kit seemed to come with all the materials until I started the project with my daughter. The main string that you have to use on every single one of the projects is made out of the wrong material. The instructions say you need to use a cotton string, and the one provided is nylon, which makes the project very difficult as nylon does not hold a knot well. Also, the needle being like a plywood cut out, almost snags on the material and is a little bit difficult to weave through. If you get this, I suggest also buying a ball of cotton string or yarn, and a better weaving needle. My daughter who is five really enjoyed this kit. We were able to find videos on Vimeo to help her further understand the instructions. I wish I had bought a better kit with a better loom. I think it's kind of you get what you pay for and they clearly went cheap on the materials.

Everything about this kit is bad. The loom is flimsy, the needle is too large and unwieldy, the instructions are obtuse, two of the three patterns are too difficult for beginners (your kid won't be doing this alone!), the patterns look ugly when finished, and the materials are frustrating to work with.I'm an adult who has made several tapestries before on other looms. This kit just isn't fun, and it'll be too difficult for a beginner of any age.
