I bought two of these to replace the 3 pt hitch sways links on a Kubota 7200. After just a few minutes the eyes pulled open which I expected since these aren't meant for that use. I welded them closed and have run them using both a box blade and a brush mower for a number of hours and they are holding strong. Make no mistake they aren't rated for this use but they are cheap and after a bit of modification work great.

These are nice heavy duty turnbuckles.

works ok, no tensile strength listed in ad, hope they are sufficiently strong

This is pretty standard fare for a turnbuckle but National Hardware is still offering pretty good stuff compared to a lot of the cheap junk that has infiltrated the big box stores and even the local hardware stores around me. Price here was actually great and a lot less than the equivalent in local stores (the two who actually had this 16" size in stock). These are light duty only...not for lifting or supporting but fine for most around the house uses. Using this as a sort of expansion "clamp" with some custom ends for use in making small wooden boxes with decorative corner inserts on the inside...awkward design to try and clamp with normal methods/clamps and super glue isn't right for the job.

This is nice enough that even though I don’t need it for the project I kept it anyway

We used these National Hardware eye-toEye turnbuckles to adjust tension in a 3/16 cable system on our Codger Coop hunting blind. They installed and adjusted without difficulty and considering the non-stretchy cable, shouldn't need much adjustment over time. However, with a barrel made of aluminum and the screw eyes made of coated carbon steel, we worry whether they mayfreeze up from exposure to the elements. So on final adjustment, we coated the eye-bolt threads with preservative grease, inside and out...and then will paint them. On the other hand stainless steel forged eye turnbuckles would have been much more expensive. These will work, and should protect the C/C for a long time. ~ The Duffian.

Left this out in the rain for months without showing any sign of rusting. Can’t really ask for more!

Seems like very cheap metal. I wouldn't put an excessive load on this as I feel the threads will just rip apart.
