Very cute and whimsical. Great quality and love that it's made of wood and not plastic. Would be a great addition to waldorf classroom or helping your kids explore nature this spring.

Bought the kaleidoscope for a 5 year old. ItΓ’β¬β’s very flimsy looking for a boy. Hope it holds up

This is not like advertised in the picture. ItΓ’β¬β’s supposed to be held together with zip ties and it doesnΓ’β¬β’t actually hold together at all. My son ended up trying to tape it together and it kinda worked but otherwise itΓ’β¬β’s awful. DonΓ’β¬β’t waste your money on this one. Γ°ΕΈββ

I got this kit so we could take little leaves, flower petals, etc from our hikes and travels and make a meaningful, personalized kaleidoscope with them. The process is really simple--you do have to assemble the entire tube, not just place items between the plates, but that part is a quick and easy process. The fun part is gathering, arranging, and placing your items between the plates before taking a look.Would make a great gift for any adult or kid who already has everything!

SO this was a little disappointing because it didn't come with any wood glue. & the "colorful" dried flower pieces shown in the picture is NOT what it came with. The floral pieces that were shipped with the kaleidoscope to place inside the viewer were literally 4 tiny itty bitty bits of some plastic. 2 of those bits were not even whole pieces of a singular leaf and all the pieces were each about the size of a small diamond in a ring. Luckily, you can put whatever you want to in the viewer and i had my own actual dried flowers for that and wood glue on hand. You could also put small colorful plastic beads or large glitter flakes or fake jewels inside the viewer. You will absolutely need fast drying gorilla wood glue for this project - the zip ties will not hold the ends on, and it only pinches the mirrored slats too tightly that it pops them out of the slots. While it has male and female parts that fit together, this does not snap together. It is very lose and It will fall apart by just blowing at it - it will not work and stay put together without glue. Additionally, the screw that holds the kaleidoscope to the viewer, comes undone after a few turns and you have to keep tightening it down. The gold cover that is supposed to go onto the other end of the screw, doesn't fit and is useless. If you some how managed to get it on, it would prevent you from retightening the screw. Otherwise, it turned out to be a great project and despite the issues, i would purchase again. It was a great learning piece. My 7 year old granddaughter wasn't able to glue it together due to the pieces not perfectly fitting together and needing some one with more dexterity to hold the pieces together and glue it - she got board watching me glue the pieces. Maybe an older kid around 10 would be better suited to put it together. But she learned something new about how things work and this was a big win in the end.
