If you think this is what you are looking for, then it is. They came very safely shipped, very clean, and smooth- not sanded but only like 2 tiny sharp areas I'll file down. They are sturdy and just literally perfect for my design.

I did not have high expectations for this. Only because I’ve purchased stone and wood off Amazon for my bearded dragon enclosure in the past only to be left disappointed. However, this product is absolutely amazing. I did receive a couple pieces that were smaller than 8 inches, however, the quality and quantity of the slate stones made up for it. I received 6 stones, two were around 7 inches in length, one was 11 inches, and the other 3 were as describe (8-10 inches). If you’re looking for the perfect stones to create a realistic basking area for your reptile to allow a variation of basking temps, this is it. The stones hold the perfect temp range 95-105 degrees Fahrenheit with my lighting setup.

These are real slate, and 99.99% pure slate. Jet black color with virtually no marbling. I bought all three sizes and am VERY pleased with all. Washing is recommended but scrubbing is not really necessary. They look really beautiful in a freshwater fish aquarium. The shapes are varied as expected, but perfect and natural. Unless you have unlimited time to search for less expensive sources and options, these are worth the expense.

I stacked these to use as a basking area for different temps for my uromastyx. It works great and he loves to hide under them as well. They clean up well and are a perfect addition to his enclosure.

I’m very happy with my purchase. The rocks came in a box within a box, wrapped up in plastic, and padded with packing peanuts. I got 6 large pieces, and used 5 in my 29 gallon tank. The other one I’m gonna repurpose for something else.I have a betta fish, Micah, so I used an electric nail file I got on Amazon (Saviland Electric Nail Drill - Electric Nail File Efile Nail Drill Professional Manicure with 6PCS Nail Drill Bits & 51Pcs Sanding Bands for Acrylic Nail Pedicure Tools Home Salon Use - A-pink) to painstakingly file down every edge and sharp piece off of every rock. This took me 2.5 episodes of Survivor Man (free on YouTube) to do. So about an hour and forty minutes. I then scrubbed each rock with a new toothbrush under running water. That took care of all the dust and debris.I stood three rocks up in the sand towards the back of my tank and they have stayed in place without wobbling or shifting thankfully. The other two rocks are laying down and used for plants. On one I glued down windelov java ferns with aquarium safe glue and the other I covered in pebbles/gravel with root tabs to plant amazon swords. So far so good with everything though it’s only been 2 days. If anything changes I will update my review.I’ve included pictures of: the slate set up in my 29 gallon tank (I have other things to add for Micah, don’t worry), the slate piece I left out, and most importantly, two pictures of my betta because he’s so handsome and I love him more than anything in the world ❤️.Lastly, make sure to stream Barbie World by Ice Spice and Nicki Minaj and get ready for Pink Friday 2 on November 17th 2023 🦄🛸🎀.

I was really disappointed once I opened the box to find that the stones were not protected from damage from each other in any way.Quote from description; "Because this is a natural stone, slight color variations including some white quartz veins or brown/rust colored slate may be mixed in. These beautiful variations add natural uniqueness and interest to the stones. Our stones are hand picked, inspected, washed and hand packed to arrive safely.""Hand picked, ...and hand packed"......So, mine were packaged, loose in a bag, that was put in a box, that was put in another bag, which was then put into an Amazon box. For the price, I stupidly assumed by the above description that they would "place" the stones, maybe with some cheap Kraft paper to keep them from scratching each other, not just a pile in a bag. Only my top stone remained beautiful and unscratched. Some bottom stones had broken... really just needed a little help with the packaging. This scratching is not to be confused with the described "veining". Even wet, you can still see it.... You know these are going to be used for decoration, they have to look good or what's the point?? If it were possible to resolve, I would really like to hear from the seller. THX.
