Wonderful aesthetic ! It kind of reminds me of an alligator snapping turtle's shell, covered in barnacles. To really give it that aquatic theme. The craftsmanship is outrageously impeccable ! Absolutely lovely metalwork & woodwork. Far better than what I excepted. The cast-iron lock, along with the skeleton key really gives it a genuine vintage feel to it. It fits perfectly on my chest of drawers. It's not too small for my " treasured " items that I like to put in it, nor too big that I can't put it anywhere. It's just right. Kind of like Goldilocks porridge.

I bought this for the pirate treasure chest aesthetic. It is well made overall and the antique looking lock is a nice touch. However, there are two chains attached to the interior of the chest to keep the lid from falling completely open that are secured by some rather small, inadequate screws. Of the two chests I received, 4 of the 8 screws had already fallen out during shipping. So I made a small modification and replaced those screws with thru-bolts (pictured). Now those chains will break before the bolts ever come loose. And that bit of needed repair work is why this chest is almost, but not quite, perfect.

This looks like a legit treasure chest!! It’s heavy and study. My grandsons are going to love digging this up at the beach! Good price for this product

Some chips and nicks on the inside but nothing substantial enough to complain about. It seems fairly sturdy and the craftsmanship is quite exquisite. The lock feels sturdy and heavy as well and feels nice sitting in the hand. It came with 2 keys that look similar to the keys for handcuffs. The overall product is very nice and, while I have not tested it, seems like it might not be very sturdy in the context of keeping unwanted people out of it. That wasn't what it was made for however, just an observation. I think I will love this and keep it on my desk for the foreseeable future.

I was so satisfied with this product. It was high quality, beautifully made, safe and protective wrapping for international shipping. I bought it for my boyfriend as a gift and he loves it! A beautiful decorative and functional piece. I would absolutely recommend this wooden chest if considering.

I bought this for my 4 year old to put his treasures in. and that little plebeian filled it with rocks. i mean, I'm not one to underestimate the value of a good rock, but his rocks are pretty standard ditch rocks. like some of them are pieces of gravel. not even cool shiny ones. just basic basalt, limestone, sandstone, slate, gneiss and quartzite.what is he thinking?but the chest itself, its holding those crappy rocks pretty well.5/5but don't buy this for your kids if they have a bland taste in rocks like mine.
