The shamrocks on the tie don't scream "St. Patrick's Day," making it a good tie to wear year round if someone wishes.

The picture of the green tone on tone tie shows two different shades of green. However, I just received this tie and there is no difference in shade between the shamrocks and background, making the pattern nearly invisible. Also, this is a "100% silk" tie according to the web description and the tag on the tie, but it has a rough, stiff texture, none of the smoothness of silk, and doesn't drape well (maintains bumps and wrinkles) - this is more like a polyester tie. I ordered it for St. Paddy's day knowing that Amazon promised fast shipping, and sure enough, it did ship fast. But now I'm in the predicament of whether to keep this tie, which I'm not happy with, or to return it and try to order another tie (and risk not getting it in time for St. Paddy's day festivities).

There is very little contrast in the tie. You have to look really carefully to even see the shamrocks. I will keep it to avoid the hassle of return and so that my son has it for St. Patrick's Day, but this item is not as pictured.

The tie may be fine quality, but you cannot see the shamrocks at all. It looks like a solid green tie.
