My 11 and 13 year old grandchildren loved these kits! So much, I bought one for myself, it is a great kit! Ample supplies, although kids do break needles (well, so do I) and I have one animal to go and only one needle left. Really nice outcomes, all different, all adorable. An easy, quick craft that takes no prior experience, and no special talents.

Easy for young kids to figure out, super cute once finished. Needle tips break fairly easy, so be gentle or invest in another set of needles for back up. It does give a few extra in kit, but we broke three of them the 1st project, until we got more accustomed to using them properly. Just a heads up, or you may be stuck w a kit and no needles to finish it. Cute way for kids to get started w a new craft hobby, and worth the price.

We have no experience with needle felting. The directions make it sound very easy. Just wrap the wool and stab it over and over. My 12-year-old started to get bored with all the poking and frustrated that it wasn't as neat as the felt on the picture. She's still working on it, but I'm not sure she'll stick with it to the end. The kit does appear to include everything you need, aside from the so-so directions. We really weren't sure if we were supposed to leave the wool loose or bunch it or wrap it several times. It looks like it will make a cute unicorn, but we can tell ours won't look as nice as the picture.

Avid crafter but have never done felting before.This was such a good introduction. I was able to start right away and make a successful craft on the first try! I really loved the shaped foam pieces, really helped me get started.

This was my first attempt at needle felting. I thought that it would be helpful to learn if I could use a base to create the shape so I could get the hang of it. Instead, this was more frustrating than just doing it the normal way. The needles and wool are very cheap and the will does not stick to the foam base at all. I could completely pull the wool off and it wasn't even felted. The instructions are useless for beginners that like to see examples. There are no pictures showing how to do it. Needless to say it's in the trash now.

I tried a felting kit at a craft store and my daughter and I bought it and then bought this one in addition. My daughter and I were quite frustrated because the Styrofoam seems to be very poor quality. We have used very little felt and poke a tremendous amount, but even then it doesn’t stick and emds up falling off. The felting kit we bought at the craft store was a far superior quality than this. I would not buy this again and I’m considering returning it
