The GOOD:These bells work great for our Boxer.They are on our back door in the kitchen, and can be heard from the living room, or the bedrooms if those doors are open. They won't wake you out of a sound sleep, but most of the time they'll alert you to the dog wanting to go out. The hanger is durable, and has never slipped off the knob.The NOT AS GOOD (there's no BAD)The bells are attached with thin circular rings, and we had one of the bells fall off because the ring wasn't well attached.( -1 star)We didn't bother to fix it. There are plenty of bells.If you have a very small dog, like a Dachshund, you'd have to rearrange the bells or hang them differently for the dog to be able to reach them. Or teach the dog to jump for them.Suggestion:Teach the dog to 'nose' them, not paw at them. The bells have slots in them for sound, and your dog could conceivably get a nail caught in the slot if it's pawing at them.
