About this item

  • 【77mm Variable ND Filter】 NEEWER ND2-ND400 Variable Filter reduces the amount of light reaching the camera sensor, allowing you to shoot in different conditions with slower shutter speeds and wider apertures. It is perfect for capturing rivers, waterfalls, light trails, and other moving objects with dynamic motion blur
  • 【Accurate ND Adjustment】 Rotate the marked dial to achieve precise ND values from ND2 to ND400 (1 to 9 stops) for optimal exposure. Note: Variable ND filters operate on polarization principles. At maximum aperture, certain lenses and focal lengths may cause an X pattern due to the filter's interaction
  • 【Dual Sided Multiple Coatings】 Optical glass with multiple coatings on both sides ensures neutral contrast and allows you to take images and videos with high color fidelity. The coatings are water repellent, dustproof, anti fingerprint, and scratch resistant, easy for daily cleaning
  • 【About Compatibility】 Only for lenses with a 77mm filter size, please check before purchasing. The ND filter also protects your lens from scratches and features an 82mm wider front frame to prevent dark corners. A ø82mm lens cap, a lens cap lanyard, and a cleaning cloth are included
  • 【Note】 1. Variable ND filters work on polarization principles. At maximum aperture, an X pattern may occur with certain lenses and focal lengths; if this happens, reduce the ND level. 2. For long exposure photography requiring substantial light reduction, consider fixed ND filters like ND64 or ND1000. 3. This filter uses ø82mm lens caps and lens hoods

Works great and it's exactly what I needed. Great build quality, excellent packaging,, the filter threaded on smoothly, the ring spins smoothly and I was able to drop my exposure for my videos.

As a beginner photographer, I did alot of researching and youtubing for my new filter lens to give my outdoor landscape photography a little bit of pazzazz. The fit was on point with My Canon EOS T4i at 58mm. The quality of the lens feels like it was made for my camera, so no hesitations about that. The value for my money's worth is great. Couldn't have made a better purchase for my new hobby.

I used this for my canon Vixia HF G50 camcorder and it’s a great value ND filter. I exclusively use Neewer ND filters because I can rely on their excellent build quality.

Love these filters. Perfect size for my 100mm macro. Very nice range of image darkening between 1-9 shots. Not any noticable casts or other issues with the lens.

The NEEWER 77mm variable ND filter is a fantastic tool for anyone looking to improve their photography or videography, especially when it comes to controlling exposure in bright lighting. The adjustable ND range from ND2 to ND400 gives you a lot of flexibility, letting you reduce light intake from 1 to 9 stops, which is great for shooting outdoors or in harsh sunlight. The build quality feels premium, with multicoated optical glass that helps minimize fingerprints and scratches, which is a huge plus for keeping your shots clear and sharp. It’s easy to adjust the filter by rotating the ring, and you can notice a smooth, precise transition as you dial in the right amount of light reduction. The filter also comes with some nice extras like a lens cap, lanyard, and cleaning cloth, which make it super convenient to keep everything in good condition when you’re on the go. Overall, this is a reliable, high-quality ND filter that’s perfect for controlling your exposure and taking your photography to the next level without breaking the bank.

Another great Neewer product. Materials are nice and sturdy without any defects from what I can tell. Comes in a protective case along with a cleaning cloth. Filter works as intended and I have no complaints at all just be aware that there's no hard stops at the min/max. Overall, a solid pick up if you need a ND2-400 filter for your camera which should cover most outdoor photography needs. Also, love that it comes with a lens cap...a very nice touch.

What's not to love about this ND filter? All stops are clearly marked, the outer filter ring turns silky smooth and the images look great! Beware there is no hard stop at 1 or 9, if you go beyond on either end, you may notice an "X" in your image. The design and construction quality of this filter are so nice, especially at this price point for a 77mm filter, I can overlook the omission of a hard stop. The robust pinch cap and cleaning cloth at this price point are icing on the cake. Highly recommended!

This is a very valuable tool to have - it can help in still photography but it can make a huge different in video. In still work, you have an option to change your ISO settings, your aperture, as well as your shutter speed. But sometimes, that's not enough. You may want a slow exposure time to soften water in a stream, but also shoot at a wide open aperture to isolate a particular feature. Here is where this variable neutral density comes in handy. As it covers from 1 to 9 stops, you can dial in exactly how much light you want to reach your recording chip!Same idea as video, but here you have even more restrictions. I was recording some interviews with actors on a current courtroom set. I could not do much with the lighting, as it was as it was. I did provide some light on my subjects with some soft fixtures of my own. The other condition the producers wanted, was for the background to be very out of focus. It was easy with two pieces of equipment. First, I selected a lens purchased for just this job - a Canon 85mm f1.4 lens. This allows for a slight telephoto effect which is great for portraits (essentially an interview frame), and the speed of f1.4 turns the background to mush. The only issue was I had too much light. And this was easily handled with the neutral density filter. It made for an excellent shoot!Regardless of what you are shooting and regardless of stills or video, this is a great to own. It allows you more freedom to experiment with different aperture settings, which can really make or break a photography or video image.I find the Neewer line of products to be very high, and I had no problems trusting their product. Any image issue would, of course, land on me. And nothing did. The results were excellent!Nicely packaged in a thick case, a tight fitting filter and a lanyard for the lens cap.Bottom Line - An excellent neutral density filter! Smooth rotation, well marked for repeating results, and nicely knurled on the inside element, for easy removal when finished .
