I got one of these and the wireless triggers, after a day of shooting portraits I bought another flash.Works great with my Panasonic GH4, Canon 80d, and Canon 5d3.For portraits, weddings, and products these things are amazing for the price.Insane value compared to the hundreds of dollars for other flashes. At full power these things are pretty bright, not as bright as some strobes I've used, but bright.Doubled up (see photo) they are throw a lot of light around, great when using a lot of diffusion.Though this is not necessary for normal shoots. In fact, I don't usually do this.Just thought the photo looked cool so I uploaded it.Battery life is so good I don't worry about it. (I use high cap rechargeables.)Overall build quality is good, hot shoe mount is solid enough. They are made of hardy plastic. I dropped one on my foot from about 10 feet up, and while it hurt my foot, the flash was fine.Note these are fully manual so you kind of have to know what you're doing, but it's easy enough to pick up.Using fully manual camera, lenses, and flashes, teaches you a lot about photography. The only real CON is that the wireless triggers don't work if they are within about 2 feet from the transmitter.Which is a pain if you want the flash off camera, but still quite close. For example I wasI found if I covered the transmitter with my hand it would fire, but without covering it it wouldn't. Strange. But that's really a knock on the transmitter, the flash works great. If you're just getting into flashes, I'd recommend starting here. For $35, it's a steal.

This is a good manual flash. I picked up five of these. They all work well with my Canon 6D, works with Phottix Strato II radio triggers, great for added flash. If you put these in Mode S1 they can be triggered by another flash going off. Kind of comes in handy that way. I had 4 of these hooked to radio triggers and one just on a stand with no radio receiver, put it in s1 mode and it still triggered. So you can still have this pretty far from your camera as long as it is close to another remote flash, if it see's the flash it goes off. It also has a PC input, so you could have have one on a hot shoe radio receiver and if your radio receiver has a PC Flash out run a wire over to it and fire two off one radio receiver if you didn't want to rely on the S1 flash trigger. So there are a few options for getting it to fire off camera. It has a handy test flash button. This flash is the same size and basic shape as my Canon 580 EX II but does not have the Canon extra features; like no ETTL; no hi-speed sync, no first curtain and second curtain. It's just a basic manual single pin flash that works on camera or of, can be triggered from other flashes like Canon 580 EX II on your camera, just set the flash to S1, 3 modes; Manual S1 and S2.MANUAL MODE is just a basic hot shoe mount triggered flash, or PC line triggered flash.S1 MODE the flash will trigger when it sees another flash go off.S2 MODE the flash will trigger on the second flash it see's, this is in case you want it to ignore your cameras pre-flash.Manual Flash is great and some photographers prefer working with manual flash because they don't like how ETTL could put out more flash power than they want, they prefer to fine tune their light for their photos. If you work with these for a while you'll quickly get the hang of setting your power levels for even shadowless shots.I give this flash a big thumbs up. Good value and a good build quality. I know other pro photographers using them. They come with a plastic stand similar to the one that comes with the Canon 580 EX II, plus their stand has a standard Metz screw hole that will allow you to easily attach it to a stand if needed. It takes 4 AA batteries just like the Canon 580 EX II. Very easy push buttons that feel like they have a solid build and easy to read LED indicators for power level setting and mode and when flash has cycled and is recharged ready to go again.Great for photographers just getting started into photography on a budget or pros. You can't beat the price. Granted they are not Canon 600EX-RTs, but you can buy 5 of these for under $200, the trade off is they are only manual flashes.

I needed to buy a flash very quickly because I've started getting a couple of requests for some photoshoots despite having a camcorder, so I decided to look around and see if I could get anything good for cheap. According to the overall reviews, this one seemed like the best option and I keep seeing that Neewer is everywhere and so far they haven't disappointed.I wish the flash came with batteries but luckily enough after scavenging around my entire house, I was able to find exactly 4 AA batteries and popped them in. I don't know how much charge is in there but I've probably used the flash about 100 times at the highest setting and it still hasn't powered off on me. It's crazy how bright the flash can actually be on the highest setting, but usually for indoors I'll have it on the 2nd or 3rd bar depending on how far something is, and obviously the 1st bar for close-up shots. The diffuser/reflector combo is awesome and it actually does have a very noticeable effect, and it's honestly really cool how it simply just slides in and out for quick use. I didn't know the diffuser had a little notch to pull on the reflector at first, so I kept on trying to pull it back out with my nails because I thought it wasn't getting enough friction to take it back out (I just didn't put the diffuser in all the way so it latches onto the notch) But it's fine now.I use the flash directly on my camcorder. It's not super heavy which is a huge plus in my opinion and it's pretty easy to use and understand so far, but I have yet to pair it with other flashes.

Jammer
