this drone needs light to fly indoors,and this light seems to take care of that.and it also protects your battery.for future update to this product I would love to be able to take battery out without removing the light. thanks

As a new owner of the DJI Neo, I quickly learned that keeping my drone in top-notch shape would entail having some necessary accessories. To protect mine, I purchased a gimbal protector, landing gear, and the STARTRC PHOTO Neo Battery Protector. While all three perform their job, the battery protector was a pleasant surprise—both for its protective qualities, but also because of the lovely LED lighting it adds to my drone's aesthetic. The STARTRC PHOTO Neo Battery Protector does precisely what the name indicates—it guards the battery against potential harm. Installation was a breeze, clicking into place without any problems whatsoever. Once installed, it offers an extra layer of protection against impacts, particularly during landings. True, I hand-land my drone myself on most occasions, but for the occasional ground landings, it reassures me. Where this accessory really shines—literally—is in its LED lighting integrated. The light is incredible, making the drone more visible when you're flying, especially in low-light situations. If you're doing nighttime cinematic footage or just adding some personality to your flights, the glow is a wonderful bonus. At full battery, the light lasted around 45 to 50 minutes, which is pretty great. That being said, I would have appreciated a color-shifting feature to change through various colors for a more vibrant appearance. With my landing gear on, the battery protector isn't strictly required, as the raised design keeps the battery from touching the ground. But for those unforeseen situations—whether it's a bumpy landing or an accidental crash—it's always safer to have a little added protection.Overall, While not a strict requirement for every DJI Neo owner, the STARTRC PHOTO Neo Battery Protector is a smart enhancement for those who want function and style. It offers battery protection, shockproofing, and fashionable LED illumination, all wrapped up in a tidy package. If only it had a rainbow light show mode—then it would be perfect! If you're looking to add a little extra security (and style) to your drone setup, this accessory is definitely worth considering. Highly Recommended! A+

Talk about a purpose I didn't think about. I originally bought this to protect the battery and for night time visibility. Then I found out it helped with that pesky problem of the Neo saying not enough light and going crazy and bumping into walls or just landing. This has been a game changer.
