I have 25 students and pour about 6 ounces each finishing with 2 ounces of chocolate milk to cool it down. I have to use my electric kettle to cover the class when including the 2 adults in the room. Takes a bit to heat it up, but you can start it early and let it sit until you need it. Happy with the purchase and much easier than dealing with trying to use a crock pot with chocolate milk.

My family takes an annual camping trip w 20+ ppl. This is perfect! Fill to the max, add 2 cups on Yuban coffee and youre ready.I do use a regular coffee filter w it to make the grounds easier to toss. I just snip a hole in the middle of the filter so it slides over the water tube easily.

EDIT:My previous comments all hold, but an additional thing which has knocked a star off of this review (down to 3) is that this new urn has a leaky spigot. It very slowly drips water out the bottom, so that in the morning there's a puddle a couple inches across on the counter. It's manageable, but implies the quality is somewhat lacking. And obviously I would prefer an urn which did not leak!-------------------------------ORIGINAL COMMENTS:This is the second time I've bought one of these.I use it about once a week, with no coffee filters or anything inside. I just leave it running for maybe 24 hours full of water. The first one I had lasted maybe 8 months before it got a little too gross inside. If I'd done a better job maintaining it, perhaps it would have lasted longer.The heating part didn't wear out or anything, it was still working fine.That said, I have just one suggestion if you buy this. The lid seems nice and thick when you pull it out of the box, but it turns out it's just two pieces of plastic screwed together, with the holes and seam near the bottom... meaning it fills with water vapor which condenses inside the lid.This warm moist environment only drains so well, and I imagine it will grow mold if you don't take care of it regularly, which will then probably leak into your urn.Not to worry! Just unscrew the bottom part of the lid and throw it away. The only thing it provides seems to be a little extra insulation to avoid the top getting too hot. Without it, it's still fine.

Delivered quickly with little hassle. Takes a little bit to get the best ratio of grounds to water. I use this in my classroom for students and fellow teachers. 3/4 of a 340g bag of coffee ground fairly corse seems the way to go. Once it is done brewing just turn off it will keep warm for an hour or more. It does make noise while brewing, students say it is like a snoring baby. We have called ours "Brewtus" it has a name tag and everything. No issues with grounds in the cup.

Purchased this for a gathering of about 60-70 people and have no regrets.I am gifting this to my sister for Christmas and she mentioned even if she has six or seven people... this is nicer than having to make several pots of coffee.Brewing does take about 20 to 30 minutes and the coffee was hot several hours later.
