This works very well as a tenderizer and to flatten meat such as large chicken breasts. Handle is well made and fits my slender hand as well as being a bit shorter than most. I’m very pleased with it.

I used to have a dud of a meat mallet. The handle kept detaching (resulting in occasional injuries) and the weight was unsubstantial. Enter this meat mallet. It changed my life. I frequently hammer chicken with this meat tenderizer. Sometimes I use the flat side. Other times I use the spikey side. Both side achieve the tool's intended use: it tenderizes meat. It is a solid tool. I expect it to last the rest of my life.

I haven’t used the spiky side yet, but the smooth side works great for tenderizing and thinning out steaks and chicken. I have a small kitchen and don’t have a lot of space for kitchen gadgets, so I’ve been using a regular hammer for a while now. I’m glad I was able to make some space in one of the 2 drawers I have in my kitchen for this! I like the weight of it and it seems to be made very well.

The weight is perfect for me. The handle grips really well. I pounded some chicken breasts into a paillard - the Oxo hammer worked great. I also tenderized two breasts for some Parmesan crusted chicken - again, the Oxo worked great.I LIKE this hammer.

This is a strong meat tenderizer. I use it to flatten out my chicken or pork for cutlets and schnitzel.Does a great job. There is a flat side as well as a bumpy side.It is very durable and heavy enough to make an impact but not too heavy that it is difficult to use.Grippy handle so it doesn't slip out of my hands.It is easy to clean and it much prefer it over a metal or wooden one as bits of meat are easy to rinse away.
