I ordered this charger more for the batteries than the charger. Unfortunately, the batteries seem to be undercharging out of the starting gate, but the charging base is excellent for the edge of a desktop. I have very old authentic Canon brand batteries that are finally meeting their half life upon charging after sixteen years of use. I was surprised that the brand new Newmowa batteries that came with the charger don't last nearly as long as expected in the same Canon camera I use to shoot photos for my ebay store, jayjaspersgarage. Still recommended yet you best carry several back up batteries on a short weekend trip if you don't have access to power for recharging.

The batteries are compatible with my Canon camera but the battery life is about half of what my Canon battery life is. It works, but you better keep them charging...
