It’s a good solid tool and it works great for marking sheet metal. The only annoying thing is that it’s not stainless steel so the packaging says it will rust if you don’t run some oil and do some general upkeep on it. Honestly that’s a very small downside for a tool that works exactly how it’s supposed to and is well made. If I lost mine I would absolutely reorder this again the first chance I got

I need a large protractor for cutting foam board for my art. This fits the bill. It is extremely well built and will last a lifetime. I don't even use the pencil on my foam board, the point makes enough of a line to follow for cutting, It holds the measurement nice and tight with the adjusting screw. Exactly what I was wanting and the price was great.

Well made and arrived in excellent condition. I had a little "oil" on it which was cleaned up with alcohol on a paper towel . The pivot point is a little on the loose side for my liking, only because of the smaller size circle I was using it to draw. It holds the pencil well. I probably will look for a smaller one for use on smaller projects, bigger is not always better. This is a great tool for the shop and know it will last for many years.

I don't know why, but in my mind I thought this thing would open up 12" as in it could draw a 12" circle. No... this thing is like 12" tall! It's huge! Very high quality and durable.

The product works ok after rework, but the quality of the construction should be improved.The pencil holder had a burr on the inside of the screw hole which restricted inserting the pencil. I took some time to file down the burr with a small metal file. After filing, was able to insert a pencil as expected.Looks like the unit is hand machined, with oil residue over the unit. Had to remove oil residue before using.Hand machining makes the product look a little cheap and unfinished. But it is actually strudy.Again, worked with some effort.

Not well built, rough edges on the parts needed to be filed smooth. A standard pencil fits so poorly into the holder that making anything other than a rough circle is a joke. I am going to get rid of it and find something a lot better.

Badly made, rough edges, milling marks on arms, adjustment screw bottoms out and compass can still move. Very poor quality
