Your cart is empty. How can I clean my mobile?
Mobiles made of cardboard should only be dusted with a soft brush. Mobiles made of wood, aluminium or plastic can be wiped with a moist cloth with a few drops of mild dishwashing detergent.
How long can my Mobile last?
One person called us and said that they had inherited a Science Fiction Mobile from her grandmother who had had it for 30 years! In our home we have had the same mobile hanging for more than 20 years.
Can my mobile hang outdoors?
No. Since they are very sensitive to the simplest whiff of air hanging them outside is not recommendable.
Will my mobile fade?
In many of our mobiles we use plastic foil. This material is lightproof and easy to clean. Some other mobiles are made of cardboard. Even though we use the highest quality cardboard it will fade over the years. Red colors fade more than blue. You can delay fading by hanging the mobile out of direct sunlight.
When hanging your mobile, try it in different places and bear in mind the following suggestions:
1. The mobile is designed to be a pleasure to the eye and a stimulus to the imagination. Hang out of reach of children. It is not a toy.
2. Hang it away from direct sunlight to avoid the colors fading and the shapes distorting.
3. Hang it where there is some movement of air but no strong draft. A slow, quiet movement is the essence of the mobile. Do not hang it outdoors.
4. Where practical, hang the mobile where it has a subdued, uniform background. A corner position against light-colored walls is often the best location.
5. If possible, hang it in the light from a lamp. The shadow that the mobile casts onto a wall or ceiling will give the mobile yet another dimension. A candle is a concentrated light source which will produce distinct, well-defined shadows.
6. Hang the mobile where you can watch it while listening to music. You will see the mobile move to the rhythm of the music.

My science loving 13 year old son, who did a timeline about the discovery of atoms for school, thought this was the coolest thing ever. One has to be a little careful unpacking it so as not to bend the fragile wires. We found it looks best in a corner with a floor spotlight shining up on it, so the light bounces on the metal rings and gives the illusions that electrons are shooting around the proton. Lighting it from below also creates cool shadows on the ceiling. The air from a nearby heating vent keeps it in perpetual motion. I gave several of these as gifts to both adults and kids, and everyone loves them.

I will agree with past reviewers: it doesn't seem like there's a lot to this mobile. It's small, so keep that in mind. But building a mobile that is in slow, perpetual motion isn't easy and this mobile has a grace to it (and a nerd factor) that I feel justifies the price. It's a lovely piece of art that I'm happy to have in my home.

This is a great product and I'm very happy with it. It came very quickly, is beautiful and is lightweight enough to hang from a ceiling with just a thumbtack (no need to install a hook with a drywall anchor or anything). It's beautifully made and the string it hangs from is almost completely invisible so it really looks like the atom is suspended in space. Definitely recommend and will be looking for more products from this vendor!

I love this mobile: nice quality, finish and design. It was easier for my students to understand the "cloud of electrons" surrounding the nucleus. However, I believe it is overpriced.

How is it possible that this came with a cardboard hanger? Am I missing something? There was no plastic hanger. Thread came around this cardboard hanger, please see attached picture. Of course it broke and fell. I was lucky it didn't get too tangked and was able to make a makeshift knot on my ceiling hook. But I am so, so disappointed. This costed 60 dollars. I've seen 5 dollar hangers with plastic hooks. This one should have a premium hanger for the price. I am writing to the manufacturer because this has to be a mistake from what I've read or simply this needs to be addressed.Edit:I contacted the manufacturer and they said this was the sellers fault. They said they must have sent me.an open box item. I don't know what to think of this, the cardboard hanger was Flensted branded. Either way, I am not happy. At all.

Elegant, inspiring, stimulating and therapeutic while gracefully and silently rotating. The diameter of the outer orbit is about 11" rather than 9" inches as described. Not a problem, but I wonder if mine was somehow stretched--and if I can squeeze it together. It's a great gift, especially for those who have taken a course in chemistry or physics.

Das Mobile ist wunderschön, vermutlich war das Produkt schon vorher woanderst. Der Faden war total verdreht, da es sich um eine Fadenrolle handelt, haben wir kurzerhand den vorhandenen Faden getrennt und neu gefädelt. War eine sehr mühevolle Aufgabe (ein Freund hat mir dabei geholfen, alleine hätte ich es nicht geschafft und vermutlich das Produkt zurückgeschickt), nun sieht es sehr schön aus. Wirklich ein toller Blickfang, zumal ich in der Schräge nicht viel Platz habe, für mein kleines Kosmetikstudio ideal, wenn die Kunden auf der Liege sind (ob Fußpflege oder Kosmetikbehandlung), wirkt es sehr beruhigend. Klare Kaufempfehlung, nur die Fadengeschichte müsste anderst gelöst werden.
