If you are expecting "iPhone" like quality and easy of use on the printer, you are going to be disappointed. This is a functioning machine, built cheaply with plastics and cheap circuit boards. The way seller makes money is from the labels. You can only use their labels, which are not cheap. It is like how printer company sells you printer for cheap, but charge expensive ink cartridge. The bluetooth works with an app you have to download from App Store. The whole thing works, user experience matches the price, I put the printer on my book shelf, if you look from far away, it is pretty, only when you touch it, you feel the cheaply used plastic and the light weight. I am compelled to hold it steady worry about it falling side ways when it prints. But it won't fall, it prints fast, before you know it, labels spit out already, everything just works, and that is all.

Wireless Bluetooth operation, I can save my labels for future editing and use. Various options for label color, size, and print color. Durable labels that withstand harsh environments. Also love that labels print options are fully customizable and can even print bar codes and QR codes. This has been a game changer for me in the electronics industry.

The construction quality seems decent and the app was okay, but nowhere on the product description does it say that you can only use the mfg labels. If you have a business that has its own custom labels (like I do) this printer will not work for you.

After emailing with Niimbot's customer service which was fantastic!! we determined I got a faulty device. My new device works perfectly. Be patient with customer service, they are going to ask for a video showing the issue. I have no issues with this since I am a technician, and you would be surprised as to how some people interpret instructions. I am now giving a 5-star review. This is a great little printer especially for the price but it has one major flaw. I purchased the D101 for the specific purpose of being able to use the smaller labels from the smaller printers. Niimbot accomplished this by including a nice plastic divider that holds the smaller width labels to one side of the printer; here is where the issue is. The auto detect label sensor is on the opposite side that they pin the smaller labels so the device will not auto detect the smaller labels. There are two workarounds for this that I found. You can 1) put the labels in with the divider and manually search for the template you're you have inserted. Or 2) which I found to be easier, is remove the divider then press the new labels to the left side of the printer and close the lid. The printer will then detect the labels and populate your label history under templates. Then when you put the divider back in and it doesn't detect the label you can select from the label history the proper label. This seems almost too dumb of a design to be on purpose. If niimbot reads this and I have a defective device please contact me or reply to this. In the meantime I may be contacting niimbot or returning this device.

I have been looking for a tape that doesn’t fade in the sun so I can label items that will get a lot of exposure to the sun. Thermal printers absolutely won’t work because they fade within a couple of days in the sun. I have been testing this label for about a week in full sun, and it hasn’t faded at all. It uses a tape to transfer the letters to the tape, not heat transfer. I will post again if it fades, but so far it looks as good as it did when I started my test.The photos are a test of about 3 months. The heat transfer label is almost completely faded, but the one from this printer looks great.

Once I figured out how to do it the labels were good BUT the instructions on how to load the label maker were between non-existent and hard to find. The enclosed instruction sheet was just confusing on how to insert and align the first tape. There is a tape already in the printer but mine was backwards. Nothing on the tape to show the feed direction, I had to search YouTube for a demo. Even then its not obvious since the Niimbot video person has her fingers over the tape as it goes in and she talks way too fast. I ran the video at 50% speed for the first clear hint.Now its easy and makes nice labels, if a bit pricey.
