The Nikon FM2 is a mechanical single-lens reflex film camera that requires no batteries except for the exposure meter. Two years after FM2, New FM2 was released with a minor change. The FM2 / New FM2, which requires you to set the focus and aperture all by yourself, was used as a teaching material in photography schools as the best camera for learning the basics of photography.

The camera in the image isnt the one you will get BUT (at least in my case)... I got a better one!! I expected a Nikon FM2 but my serial number has an "N" to start so I ended up being sent a Nikon FM2N!!The lever and all the switches and knobs on mine are very smooth! I dont see any fungus or scratches on any of the glass pieces!Meter worksAll thats left is to hope my pictures come out

The Nikon FM2 is a classic camera recognized as one of the best SLR cameras ever made. Unfortunately, the FM2 I received from Photozou Camera looked good cosmetically however the film advance lever did not work. It worked about seven times and then the lever jammed. It worked again for a few photos and then the film advance would advance without depressing the shutter. When I got the film developed several of the photos were cut off, because the film advance did not work properly. I ended with few good photos from a roll of 36 and ended up returning the camera for a refund.

I got this second hand about $100, some cosmetic wear and tear are visible, you can tell it's been really USED.. but despite that this worked very smooth and just finished developed the first roll. I am very happy (although I have some mishaps). ergonomics the camera itself is compact and feels solid when you hold it, The meter is centre weighted (60-40), I'd say it's pretty much average. The hot shoe and the flash sync works with or without battery, (surprise!) but check for list of compatible flash, I used a third party digital flash (Nissin Di622 MKII), I have not tested it with my Nikon SB600 but it should work fine. (Manual mode of course). You can find some sample shots here: [...]
