I use these every day. They stay the way you bend them. I use for cords, holding the two pieces of fishing rod together, holding a group of small items together. attaching rain coat to bike rack etc.

They make a good product. In fact, I can't imagine how to make them better. That said the failing is the price. Way overpriced, like I mean over the top. I guess they figure they have the market so gouging is fair game.
