When my old charcoal filter in my countertop compost container grew mold, I found these on Amazon. I like that they are cheap and can be easily trimmed to whatever shape you need. There are no odors coming from the bin so they work well

It came perfect size for what i needed. Glued 5 together to make 1 thick filter... Worked amazing.

I taped this to the lid of my compost bin in the kitchen. I am happy to say I am no longer smacked in the face by the foul smells of decomposing food when I open the bin. Of course there are still gassy smells if I leave the lid open for a bit, but that’s expected. I wish I purchased this sooner!

I bought a countertop food recycle bin that did not come with charcoal filters but had a filter compartment. These were very reasonable and cut to size very easily.
