Can't have loud crowing? You're in luck. A clever backyarder who wanted both roosters and happy neighbors decided to take matters into her own hands. She designed, tested, tweaked, tweaked some more, and finally patented the world's only collar designed to dramatically reduce both the volume and the frequency of crowing. It has been tested and adjusted for maximum safety, comfort, and effectiveness. Listed below is typical sizing by breed, but to be accurate you can measure your rooster's neck (under the feathers, close to the skin, lower on the neck) before ordering, then ADD 1.5 to 2 inches to your measurement to provide enough "overlap" on the collar to ensure the Velcro attaches properly. If in doubt, choose a size larger! Sizing Guide: XS (4 inches): Class A Seramas only. S (6 inches): Small breeds like Class B/C Seramas, Bantam Cochins, Pekins, Game Bantams, D'Uccles. M (8 inches): Silkies, Polish, Leghorns. L (10 inches): Most large fowl birds like Plymouth Rocks, Orpingtons, Marans, Cochins, Wyandottes. XL (12 inches): Extra large birds like Brahmas, Shamos.

I'm going to start off by saying that I normally don't leave reviews on Amazon, but I had to with this product. To give some background I bought chickens for the first time several months ago. I got a total of six pullets. Over time I noticed one looked a little different than the rest. It's comb and wattles were coming in a bit earlier and redder than the rest. I was told several times by a friend that it's just a big hen. They were wrong. Within a few weeks it began to crow. (There's no rooster ordinance where I live, but you can't have any animals that are a nuisance; very vague.) I thought I lived far enough out and in a noisy enough environment that nobody would complain.Fast forward a couple months, I get the dreaded letter in my mailbox. Someone had complained about my rooster making excessive noise. I had heard about these collars in the past and for the price, I figured I would give it a shot. Then about three days later, animal control showed up to my house. They told me that the rooster was not a nuisance, but there was no reason to keep him (I didn't want to lecture the guy on the imlortance of a rooster in a flock, so i just smiled and nodded.) so I should either cull him or rehome him. I explained to animal control that I had a no crow collar on the way and would be trying it out before I did either of those. He laughed and said, "I've heard those things don't work."Once the collar arrived I put it on my rooster. I gave it the test to make sure he had enough room to still breathe and let him get used to it. After about 30 minutes he tried to crow and.. wow! You can barely hear it outside. When you are inside your house you REALLY can't hear it. All in all this is a great product. He's been wearing it for about a month now with no major issues. I highly recommend it; it saved my boys life!

Put this collar on with only a pinkie finger of give and still didn't work. He'd crow loudly and just sound like he struggled at the end to breath.Useless.

It's safer and more durable than the other collars I looked at. Doesn't stop the crowing but definitely quiets it. I recommend washing it to keep it soft.

I love this collar. It took a few adjustments to get it into the right place but works perfectly now. One of the reasons I believe it is so effective for me is because it is thicker and way more comfortable than all the other collars I have tried. The thin ones wouldn't work at all. The 2 inch velcro strip would work initially but was so irritating that my rooster would constantly mess with it, I had to constantly adjust it to make it work. This expensive collar has a more breathable material over the neck that my rooster doesn't seem to mind. We can now sleep in and own a rooster. My one complaint about this collar is that the velcro isn't as sticky as I would like. It is pretty easy to remove and therefore easier for the rooster to get out of. I raise American Bresse chickens and chose to keep the rooster that was the most willing to take a collar.I do want to point out that of about 10 roosters, I had 2 roosters that would always get out of their collars. I started with the thin cheap collars to help me select for a rooster that was the most accepting of it. After that I upgraded to this expensive collar for my favorite rooster.I believe that collars don't work for every rooster but the collar is effective. For me, it is worth every penny we paid.

We purchased this crow collar after having used cheap, thin ones that cost around $5 for a pack of 3. Paid for expedited shipping and still took a week to arrive. Once it got here I couldn’t believe what a poor design it was. The Velcro has got to be the weakest I’ve ever experienced and the end where the tag is doesn’t lay flat as there is no Velcro across the end piece. Even after cutting off the tag my hens removed the collar after a few hours. Then the next day my rooster removed the collar. It does have to be on very tight under the feathers and even then the cheap ones we were using worked better. I guess I will do better research next time I see something recommended on a You tube video.

I really really wanted this to work and it did slightly. It gave my loudmouth rooster a garbled voice. This collar had a better chance on Mr Crockpot than other collars I tried but still did not work for this rooster.

One of our chickens turns out was a rooster. Loved him to much to get rid of him so we bought this collar. After a couple adjustments it works great ! He enjoys his ladies and has no problem eating or doing what rousters do. His crow is sounding like a muffled trumpet lol. Give this a try if you live in a neighborhood that crowing isn't for everyone before getting rid of him. Thank you for your humane answer to this problem.

This product is great! My rooster is a bantam, and he's got some powerful lungs on him.I wanted to buy a product that allowed him the freedom to crow, eat, breathe, cluck, and just be his normal self..... at a lower volume. The no-crow-collar did that for me!I had to try it on my rooster 3 times before I got it right. The first time, it was too tight, and I had to loosen it to allow him to breathe normally. (He appeared to be gasping and dizzy)The second time, it was too loose, and he was essentially just wearing the collar as a fashion statement. The third time, he can breathe easily, cluck at his ladies, eat normally (i offer forage and crumbles to lessen the possibility of choking), and he can crow! Quietly. Like a rubber chicken. My neighbors never voiced complaints before, but now they openly enjoy watching the chickens in my yard, and chuckle as my rooster's squeaky crows.
