NOVA I9NS 3/4-Inch 16TPI Thread Chuck Insert/Adaptor allows you to 'adapt' your Insert Type NOVA Chuck to a 3/4-Inch 16TPI Lathe. Allows you to keep the same chuck and accessories if you change your lathe - you only need to change the insert/adaptor. The internal thread is 3/4-Inch 16TPI and the external thread M38 matches the NOVA insert type chucks, to simply and easily screw into the back of your NOVA Insert Type Chuck. The NOVA I9NS inserts are only for “Insert Version Chucks”, NOT “Midi Chucks”, these are the only Chucks that will accommodate inserts. Below are the only “Insert Version Chucks” that will accommodate inserts:
1.) 48202 – Chuck NOVA G3 Z-threaded
2.) 23055 – Chuck SuperNova 2 with 50mm Jaws
3.) 23067 – Chuck SuperNova 2 Companion Z Insert

It works perfectly. On my g3. But you do have to remove the insert already in the chuck. On the pictures posted, it is still in place. Remove the allen screw in the chuck key hole, remove the current insert and screw in the new adapter. Then replace the allen screw.

I have a very old craftsman lathe that I inherited. Will I did my home work and decided that Nova makes quality machined attachments for my lathe. There prices a reasonable. This Nova insert fits perfectly.I would recommend this to everyone that needs a 3/4x16 Thread Chuck Insert/Adapter

Arrived faster than expected. Not much to it- single piece of threaded steel. Will be using it on old Craftsman lathe with 3/4 x 16 tpi shaft as no one sells a direct thread-on chuck for it. Did t come with any sort of box or package ( besides clear plastic bag) since bought it used.

I got it quick and it looks great one problem it was too small for what I needed I needed a 7/8 not 3/4 but that was my mistake thank you I ordered another one see if I make mistake number two

Worked great for my old Duracraft WL1236 wood lathe and allowing me to mount a NOVA 48111 chuck. No threading or mounting issues at all.

All of my other accessories that i have fit the spindle on my lathe. however this one does not. I noticed when i first put it on that it seemed a bit loose, but i thought that was just the way it was supposed to fit. It worked fine on smaller things that i was turning, but when i tried to turn a larger bowl, it stripped the outer edge of my threads on the lathe. when i pulled it off there were metal shavings and the threads were slightly flattened. Luckily it just took off the very edges and i can still use my other attachments. Cannot find out how to contact the seller to see what is going on.

Disappointed in the mechanism used to connect this. It threads into the chuck fine, but there's a set screw in the chuck to keep this from spinning. However, the set screw doesn't have a flat seat to go into, and instead just tightens down on the threads of this insert.So everything tightens up fine when attaching the chuck, because the threads go in the right direction, but when trying to remove the chuck from the lathe it slips and chews the threads on this insert.Now I know I could loosen the set screw and remove the chuck before the insert, or I suppose I could buy a thin wrench that could slip between the base of the chuck and the headstock, but that's extra work to use an already $25 nut.I don't know, I like the chuck and the whole thing works pretty well, but this is a sloppy and frustrating design on an otherwise fine product.
