Crafted with a 3.5mm raw neoprene exterior, these mitts feature a titanium laminate adhesive that sheds water thus eliminating evaporative cooling. The raw neoprene palm and pre-curved shape help to enhance your grip and prevents hand fatigue while the quick drying VaporLoft interior lining adds warmth and comfort. Sealed and liquid taped seams keep water out and the easy entry wrist isn't restricting and helps to keep water out. There's also pairing snaps on the wrists so you can keep your mitts together!Rock Solid Guarantee: NRS guarantees all products to the original owner against defects in materials and workmanship. So many 2 star reviews for a great set of Mitts.I disagree with the 2 star reviews under the premise of the comfort this new design imparts outweighs the 2 minutes it takes to safely remove the finger stitch. The first paddle I took with these mitts still stitched... was terrible. I also paddled whitewater in the winter, so the water was exceptionally cold and perhaps the intent for the stitch was fall/spring oriented. Nevertheless, deduct the star for the 2 minutes it takes to remove the stitch.Following that slight inconvenience, the gloves are the most comfortable paddling mittens these hands have experienced. Soft, comfortable, easy to use (and lose so keep track of them), padded, and thick enough material for 20 degree kayak sessions. The mittens have exceptional grip on the paddle despite reviews complaining to the contrary (lack of inherent bend). The other solution that I have for this scenario is to purchase sticky bumps or other cold water surf wax to wax the paddle before your gripped kayak sessions (if you really require that).I, for one, enjoyed a relaxed hand position during my training laps.I was not going to write a review, however the reasons for the low rating on this product could be easily contested.Given two models of kayak mitts (Old NRS vs New NRS) I would still pick the New NRS mitts.Take it for what its worth (just an opinion) but the mittens work as intended after stitch removal.
