At home I use a name brand scale. I was visiting family for a few weeks, and wanted to get a scale that I could leave with them. Frankly, I chose this one because it was least expensive.It doesn't seem any less accurate than my name brand scale. Just as easy to use. There are a few modes like "fluid ounce" that seem superfluous -- less is really more; I wish it had just grams and ounces.Probably the biggest downside to this item is that the control and display are not separable from where the scale. Therefore, if you put a big bowl on the scale, it's difficult to access the controls and see the display. The name brand one is better in this respect.

Very impressed with this scale. It's small & easy to store and very easy to use. Appears to be very accurate also. The only draw back is it's a bit hard to read when you put a plate or bowl that's larger than the base.
