Just reviewed the mop so I may as well review the mop head (forgive me if some of what I write here is cut and pasted but I described the mophead a lot when reviewing the mop itself so I might as well bring that part of the review over here). This is an AWESOME mophead; best I've ever used. It scrubs the floor better than a regular sponge mophead or cotton mophead, plus the mop itself has an abrasive attachment for stuck on stains so you can give them a hard scrub and get it off. As for absorption, it sucks up way more than a regular sponge mop plus it has these grooves (hard to describe) in the contoured sponge that pick up the dirt. IT ROCKS! Seriously, mopping isn't about wetting the floor and the dirt magically liquifies and gets soaked into the mop. There's lots of pet hair, dirt, food crumbs etc. that is hard to pick up. But the grooves in this mophead trap the dirt, then you dunk it into your mop bucket, wring it out and they're gone. How much do I love this mop and the mopheads? My original mop broke (after many years of use) and I could not find a replacement mop--only replacement mopheads. So I bought the mopheads, and a DIFFERENT mop, then drilled holes into the mopheads so the new mop could attach to it. Eventually I did find a replacement mop here on Amazon. Are there better mops out there? Maybe. But in over 20 years of personal mop experience this is (by far) the best I've ever found so I'm sticking with it until they stop making it.

I've had a Vileda "Roll-O-Matic" wringer mop for about the past six years. In that time, I believe I had to replace the original mophead once. The Vileda roller wringer system really worked well and did a great job of squeezing out as much dirty water as possible. Also the ribbed texture on the mophead did a nice job of loosening up the mud that my dogs would track onto my kitchen floor. The Vileda-branded refill mops were very durable, lasting years without requiring replacement.Sadly it appears that "O Cedar" is now making a lower quality version of the old Vileda design. Google searches for "Vileda Pro Scrub Mop Refill" bring up this O Cedar refill, and there appears to be no source for the original Vileda refills anymore. I bought one of these O Cedar refills and after struggling with trying to get the O Cedar refill to fit into my old Vileda handle, I've given up. I've tried using a screwdriver, pliers, etc. but the problem seems to be the shape of the refill itself. The Vileda refill had a metal bar that was about 3/4" deep which slid between the ribbed rollers and allowed the tab on the refill to engage the J-shaped hook in the mop handle. The new refill is much flatter and it seems there is pretty much no way to get it to engage. Also the metal loop into which the hook connected is much smaller and more shallow on the new refill. (For a comparison, see the photo I've posted.) As a result of my several attempts, the ribbed rollers have chewed up a good bit of the sponge material of the new refill; I wouldn't be surprised if this explains why so many users have seen their new mop heads crumble and fall apart.I'm sure this new refill fits the newer mop handle, but I don't see why it was necessary to change the design just enough to force everyone to have to go out and buy an all new mop. Based on the many negative reviews of the new system, it doesn't work very well anyway.Very disappointing.

it arrived in a packaging that seems like it was old and the sponge doesn’t look new. It looks aged and like it’s gonna fall apart for the amount of money that I paid for $47 I want a refund. I’m gonna return it.

Fit my old mop perfectly and saved me from having to buy a new mop. Works great.

I too thought replacing the head was near impossible. However, the directions are clear that one needs to completely open the head before removing and replacing the sponges. After the frustration of an irremovable sponge subsided, I forced the head to a fully open position and then felt dumb for not doing that initially. I would suggest negative reviewers to use their muscles and force the head fully open and reconsider their reviews. Durability is another issue.

The sponge portion of the mophead separated from its metal holder, rendering it useless.

It is the wrong size for the older mops. It didn't state in the ad the size of the refill.

I am very happy I was able to find this mop head. I am assuming they are not making it anymore since it isn't in stores and I only found one on Amazon. Works like expected. I will order another one to keep on hand in case Amazon runs out!
