Great for cleaning out the fall leaves in the bottom of my pond and green gunk that builds up from my fish over time.I read some reviewers complaining that the vacuum shuts off after only working for about 30 seconds. Well, it does, but it is supposed to do that so it can empty after the tank fills up! Then it automatically starts again until you turn off the switch. The suction is pretty good and it has several length attachments for the suction tube, but I think the longer you make the tube, the less strong the suction is.Also, I just leave the bag off the end of the outflow tube, it is not necessary for the vac to work. This vacuum works great for what I need and I'm glad I bought it.

This is the first pond vacuum I've ever owned, so I wasn't willing to splurge on Amazon's more expensive options. Because of the price, I was worried it wouldn't be the most effective option for my pond. Luckily, my worries were unfounded. This vacuum works great! The suction power is good and I appreciate the modularity of its design. Between the four heads and extenders, the nozzle can be used for lots of different situations.Like most people here, I'm not a big fan of the fact that the vacuum has to stop and empty water periodically, but I understand that this is a necessary design element. I would also like it if it were easier to attach the filter bag to… well, anywhere. When I vacuum my pond, I tie the bag to the end of the outtake tube so I can directly put the water back in the pond. I would like a specific, built-in method of attaching the bag to either the outtake tube or inner part of the vacuum.A longer power cord would be nice too, but the functionality is good, so I can't complain too much. My pond is still hopelessly dirty, but I'm slowly chipping away at getting it cleaner with the help of this good vacuum.

Received today and immediately set out to the clean some of the muck from the bottom of my dad's koi pond. There was so much muck sucked out of the bottom that it was impressive. I also cleaned some of the algae from the sides. There is just so much that needs to be cleaned that I will need to use this once a week until the pond is under control.I did read the reviews about it stopping after a few seconds and restarting. This was not a problem. I just brought the hose out of the pond until it kicked back on. It also comes with different attachments to use. The hose is quite long, I was able to walk around the pond.I will post pictures of before and after when I am done with the pond. This is a great pond vac!

The local pond cleaning place charges $200.00 an hour to drain and clean my 500 gallon back yard pond. Last year it took them three hours and I’m sorry, but that’s just too much for my blood to empty a pond and scrub up some slime and debris. This vacuum did the thick. I first thought if I used the filter bag that I could just vacuum up all the silt and debris and filter it back into the water. I filled up multiple bags of gunk and debris, but to get rid of the silt I eventually had to empty the pool. We cover the pool with a net each winter but a lot of junk will still get in. Ok, the delay between filling and dumping was not ideal, but it gave me time in between cycles to change out the various attachments if I wanted. The vacuum had good suction and only once did I have to clear debris from a nozzle. It easily took up silt and debris until the pool was empty. After sponge scrubbing the algae and assorted slime, we hosed it down, emptied that hose water, and then refilled the pond. A few things: we bought de-chlorinator for the water to use before we put the fish back in. We caught the fish with a net and put them in a bucket filled with the original pond water. I used a portable solar powered oxygen pump to aerate the water for the two hours they were in the bucket (you can find an aerator cheap on Amazon). I also watched two YouTube videos. The first was on the vacuum itself produced by the manufacturers, and another was about general pond cleaning, which plants work best, and general pond care information. Our pond came with the house when we bought it two years ago. It is ongoing work through the year to maintain it, but the pond has a waterfall feature and it is really nice to have in the summer, spring, and fall so we try our best to keep it clean and well running. Five stars because this unit did exactly what it was advertised to do. Nothing more, nothing less. Spending the $200.00 for this was much better than paying $600.00 for a single pond-cleaning service.

I have a large water feature/koi pond (8,000 gallons, max. depth 5') and cleaning it has always been my least favorite task of the year. I can't say this vacuum made it fun to do (the person in the ad picture has to live in Colorado...), nut it sure made it a lot easier and greatly improved the level of cleanliness I was able to achieve. Easy setup and use, easy clean-up, very nice suction (we can always use more...) and, in the end, worth the price I was finally willing to pay. I'd still rather empty the gutters but I'm sure my koi are a lot happier.

Love this vac!! I have a smallish pond (3 x 2 x 0.5 m) and this vac does the job perfectly. I’ve used the two of the nozzles - the wide pond nozzle has a brush and scraper so good for cleaning the pond floor where it is flat, and the smaller adjustable nozzle, which I used to clean around the plants. I like that it’s adjustable so less chance of sucking up smaller fish hiding among the plants. The sludge collector bag works well and is essential is you don’t want your lawn covered in debris. I just let the pond water expel on the lawn to give it a good watering in this dry weather. Super easy to assemble, clean and disassemble. Thoroughly recommend this product.

great product and I read the reviews ahead of time to know it cycles on and then dumps it contents before sucking again. No continuous vacuuming so it may be frustrating to some.Edit to add it has now been a while since I purchased this and it still works really well. It was a life saver during a heavy rainfall when the sump pump died. All I needed to do was place the vaccum higher so it can discharge into a nearby bathtub while pumping out water from the sump pit. Literally no effort and saved the basement from flooding. Also use it to vacuum our hottub periodically

This is the second one I got... the other one burned out the motor within a year...the problem is that it will NOT suck up dust...so please dont make the mistake I made ..it will BURN OUT if you suck dry dust, saw dust or any other dry stuff.Apart from that I find that it worked fine ...I will update in about a year from now if Im around
