Bought for a new Oboe student. Great product for a beginner. This reed does seem to need longer soaks inorder to get good air flow resulting in desired sound.

I know these are machine made, but, wow, it’s obvious this reed went out the door without any inspection. I could tell by looking as the misalignment of the reeds that nobody bothered to do so.There have been some good reviews of these reeds, so I imagine some people get lucky, but I got burned, never again!

Since oboe reeds have the life span of a fruit fly, we have to order them often for our daughter. One out of every 4 of these reeds are always dead on arrival, usually split or chipped. Always need to be soaked in warm water and reshaped, and if she’s lucky, that might work. We’re done ordering this brand.

The five reeds I ordered were fine. I'm particularly pleased with the sound they make, unfortunately one of them got broken the first time I used it. They are pretty good reeds to practice with; of course they don't even get close to the quality of professional handmade reeds done particularly for me, but still, when it's not possible to make my own reeds, they are a good choice.
