I DO A LOT OF RIVER FLOATING AND RAFTING.I WANTED TO HAVE A SMALL PADDLE TO USE WITH MY OWN TUBE OR RAFT.IVE USED IT A FEW TIMES TO GET BACK ON COURSE AND ITS JUST SO CONVIENENT. IT TAKES UP NEARLY NO ROOM AT ALL AND IS RELIABLY WELL MADE AND STURDY WHEN PADDLING .I PURCHASED 2 MORE FOR FRIENDS

Ordered 2 for the lake. Paddles work however hubby had to modify it as the paddle kept retracting when pressure was applied to it....using other to push off rocks, etc. A simple screw in place to keept it extended works well!

We have not had to use the paddle as yet but we are like that it is collapsable and when extended seems very sturdy. Easy to store on our boat.

It's small so it's very easy to pack in the car, comfortable to use, we take it tubing with us to help keep us away from the fallen trees and such. I love the color and it's very durable.

Collapsed it takes up NO room in my 16' Jon Boat and doubles as a safety orange signal device. PERFECT!

**UPDATED -- I believe the instructions were not as clear as they could be and I misunderstood part of the assembly (as did others from the reviews it seems). I don't think removing the plastic was necessary, although I still don't think I could have removed the inner extension without pliers. However, I'm VERY impressed with the support and service from the company. They've been wonderful to help me get value from the product and help me. And I would buy again -- even though I had problems assembling both paddles -- they were very handy and a good price.Original message --As others have commented, it’s so badly made that it’s impossible to assemble. With the right tools you can remove the plastic blocking the handle, then heavy duty pliers to slide the inner extension out. Now functional, but can’t collapse it fully.
