I had NO idea that such stopping power could exist on a U brake. Growing frustrated with failed attempts at producing a working, reliable brake. No matter what I did, I tried everything, upgraded pads, fresh grease in all the right spots, new lever, etc. In the end, U brakes have always gotten a bad reputation for poor performance. I was ready to give up The last part that had left to replace was the actual U brake. It Didn't make sense to me that a U brake, A 100% mechanical object, could have better or worse performance from one brand to another. After all, when it comes down to it, it's metal arches, and springs...I was wrong.Setting this U brake up along with a new, and well lubed cable, only took me about 15 minutes. The design Odyssey put into this brake makes it worth every dollar. It even comes with a new cable hanger that they designed. It is easy to adjust, works extremely well, It's sleek, and looks very strong.My first test ride was completely mind blowing! Smiling ear to ear, I had finally solved the problem that plagued my expensive custom built bmx bike. One finger on the lever, and you could stop on a dime. Being able to lock up the back wheel, and do stationary back tire hops, was only a daydream before. Now it is a reality. No more looping out doing manuals on sketchy obsticals.All in all, I highly recommend this brake, yes it is one of the most expensive on the market, but in this case, I believe you get more for your money. One thing to look out for, I have heard a rumor that these brakes don't work on older style frames, something about the distance/spacing between the brake posts and the rim? The design behind the evo 2.5 vs 2 is the 2.5 is thinner and has less material, so that you can fit bigger tires. Also certain frame brands have different brake mounts in general, so DO your research and figure out what extra hardware you might need to install this brake...now add this baby to your cart along with some new cables.

This 1988 stump jumper had an odd brake mounting point, on the bottom of the chain stay. Therefore V brakes and cantalever would not work. This fit perfectly, and allowed for a wide tire. Plenty of clearance. Easy install, feels very high quality. Glad I didn't opt for cheaper u brakes, these are great.

Had these professionally installed at my local bike shop and they are the best brakes I’ve ever used. Went from slowing down to stopping. Definitely recommend

These boys bite and feel good, it took some time tweaking everything but got them dialed in and put my new cable and brake lever.

I’m running the odyssey Dugan tires and they would not fit in between the brakes that I had on before. These work like a charm and they’re a little bit easier to pull than the others were. I’m also running the Odyssey Giro sealed pro model and it’s perfectly compatible.

The 2.5 is great on 2.4 BMX tires... grab hard and will lock you up proper for stalls and such. Excellent brakes.
