I'm NOOOO Mahcanic, because times are tough being a single father with 2 kids that get every thing. Alternator took a crap in my 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe which I'm ORIGINAL OWNER. Looking on Amazon for Alterator to fit 96 Tahoe 5.7 vortec at the Cheapest price. $82 and a couple DYI videos and took me about 45 mins. Works GREAT with lots of power to run AC, Stereo system etc. Couldn't be happier.

Just wanted to make sure to put a positive review for this alternator. I thought my alternator on my 99 Chevy Tahoe was going bad a year ago and turns out it just kept going. Well, almost a year to the day it finally gave up the ghost. I almost forgot I had purchased this one. I kept it since it was a good price and it's nice to have a back up on hand. Anyhow, I was impressed that it had the printout for the quality test in the box. Yay! Someone made sure it worked before they put it in a box and shipped it to me! So far so good. In fact, I hadn't realized my last alternator wasn't putting out the voltage this one does even when it was working, so I'm happy so far. As great a product as I can imagine getting at my local parts store.

After getting TWO DOA duralast gold alternators (supposedly new), I took the plunge on this. I figured the electronics on the CS130D may be a little more robust that the prior CS130 that I was trying to use, and for the cost of 30 minutes to make a new bracket and splice in the right connector - why not? I'm VERY glad I did. If you wire 12V switched to the I terminal it excited perfect and delivers a steady 14.6V Time will tell on its longevity, but for the time being I am VERY excited (pun intended) to have a working alternator.
