I bought one of these in Feb. 2024 and seemed to do pretty well on a medium pile carpet, about 1/4" high fibers. I bought another one in Nov. 2024. So far no cracks on either one. My size was the 45" x 53".Problem is, with using it on a medium pile carpet is that, while you sit in your chair for 10 minutes or more in one spot, you start to sink into pot holes/dimples made by your chair rollers. Then you need to push yourself out, only to roll back into the indents. I stayed away from hard mats because of reading reviews and my mat has to go under some of my desk legs. I'm thinking the weight of the desk would break any hard floor mat.

We were concern about the hardwood floors in the office space. After searching for a several weeks, we came across this one. It looks fantastic, covers the area needed, you can still appreciate the hardwood floor because is clear and is durable, no marks from the office chair. A great buy to protect your investmment.

I previously bought a nice-looking chair mat, but it wasn't long before it began to buckle and it was near impossible to get the chair back on the mat if I rolled it over the edge, unless I lifted my fairly heavy gaming chair up and on it. This one appears that that will not be the issue. The edges seem very securely affixed to the rug with the very sharp points (very sharp!! don't walk on it when it is upside down without shoes!) and there is a slight edge that the chair rolls right up on if you roll off the mat. It does take a bit more effort to roll around on it with my type of chair - but I found that if I did not sit on just the edge of the seat when rolling, that helped immensely. My only complaint is what others mentioned: trying to unroll it out of the box without assistance, is a huge challenge. If it was warmer weather, I would have then put it outside in the sun, but since it was not, I set it in front of the wood stove and put a lot of very heavy items (very heavy is the key - like full tool-box heavy!) all over it. I left it there for over a week - and even then, I had to use a heat gun on some sections to soften it up. Hopefully it will retain its shape for as long as it will last - because it is made of extremely durable plastic, and I don't see it failing any time soon. It appears to be made of extremely good material; something I would expect to see in a commercial office environment. Any indentations from sitting in one place for a period of time, goes away fairly quickly.

Won't last unless your carpet is thin & mounted directly on hardwood or concrete without the use of underlayment . My carpet is pretty thin / not soft... but it gives a little because of the underlayment. Due to how extremely thin this mat is, it bends easily when rolling my desk chair over it and have cracks in places already that I'm not even sitting directly over. Places where the wheels are, leave bends and imprints in the plastic leaving it warped in strange places bending it upward off the floor. I'm going to have to replace already with something thicker because of how easily this is cracking. Would NOT recommend unless you have something that would barely be considered carpet.

A lot of mat for the money. This mat is a little softer than my previous one but it does the job over a short knap. Also being soft it does not crack as my old one did.

Product comes rolled up tight. After two weeks in a heated, still wont lay completely flat.

This is a great chair mat. It was difficult to unroll and get to flatten out. It took two people and we only got it partially flattened. I ended up putting the mat under the chair with the ends partially rolled up, but it didn't take long for them to completely flatten out as I sat in my chair and rolled around on the mat. The mat does not slide around or roll up on me and is protecting our LVP floors with no problem!

One of the most poorly designed products in the history of product design. The underbelly of this POS is lined with sharp plastic spikes and it comes essentially molded into a roll making unrolling and employing the item for what it was designed to do an actual afternoons worth of hustle.Look for more malleable alternatives.

Very sturdy. So sturdy it will not unroll. Completely useless as a mat.

Moves about under my desk and curls up. Once curled, it stays curled and I can't get it Flat again. It's a shame as other than that it protects the floor. Perhaps it's not really designed for carpets.

I should have returned it really but busy with Christmas.This mat lasted about a month before it started to crack, now there are cracks everywhere. Do not bother.
