This unit came poorly packed and mostly made of plastic. Do not be deceived by the Stainless Steel description. The beam rubbed against the marker bar. When zeroed as instructed, the unit was 10%-15% wrong on its measurements. After zeroing based on a known weight, the beam was topped out. This unit is a piece of !@#$%.So since Ohaus has such a good reputation I returned this unit and purchased a second. The second unit came with the dial-o-gram physically broken and furthermore, it weighed a 2.5 gram weight in excess of 180 grams.Buyer beware!

Nice scale,bought to replace my worn out 40 year old high mileage one. Has more plastic than the old ones. Also came with the spring inside the dial jammed under a screw which made it impossible to zero out.Once the spring was released with a probe, everything worked.Something to check if your dial-o-gram doesn't zero out. Nice paint job though...And I should ad that Amazon and Ohaus contacted me on this problem.

Could not get this thing to weigh accurately. Very stiff mechanisms. Returned for a refund.

This Ohaus "Dial-O-Gram" Triple Beam Balance is an exceptionally precise and and easy to use scale. This scale was included with a business we bought out and, at first, I didn't pay much attention to it. My wife's small business manufactures products that involves formulas requiring precise amounts of specific ingredients to ensure the consistency between batches that our customers demand.The 2610g (5lb 12oz) upper limit is perfect for our application, and we have tested this against a very high-end (very touchy and more expensive) digital scale with near identical results. We use this scale by pre-setting the balance to the desired weight and then slowly add material until it balances. This allows us to setup several batches in a row and saves us a lot of time.Highly Recommended!CFH
