I've very carefully laid the bottle horizontal, but I don't have confidence that it won't let go. It seals, but not secure enough for me to leave it on its side. Vertical on the counter seals very well can come back to it later and finish off the bottle.

These little things are great! I hate having to take out a cork, put it back in, take it out, replace it... you get the idea. These go in nicely and come out nicely. I don't normally turn my bottles upside down but I did once to see about leakage. No leaks, but of course I didn't keep it upside down for long. Haven't tried it with champagne, yet. That will be the real test!

These silicone wine stoppers are compact, and leakproof and do an excellent job of sealing the wine bottle in the rare event that you are unable to finish it in one sitting. They also make excellent stocking stuffers!

I have tried all of them. Some work some do not. But these little stoppers work pretty good! Easy to insert and easy to remove. When you lay the bottle flat, they do not leak.

Mon refroidisseur a vin à 2 bouteilles en bas légèrement inclinées, ( genre 40%) c'est là que je mets mes bouteilles entamées et le bouchon devait être petit.C'est vraiment parfait !

The metal bit at the top isn't sealed so water gets inside when you wash them. And then it's impossible to get the water out.
