This fit perfect! I accidentally broke mine and panicked, but found this on Amazon and it worked and fit perfectly. Easily screwed in with no problem whatsoever.

I have used this thing for many years and it beats out my smart gauge for reliability and accuracy every time. Nothing compared to a stick dip but this is pretty close.

We smelled oil in the basement recently and discovered that the old gauge on our oil tank had broken off. My husband managed to use pliers to get the old one out and replaced it with this one. It’s been working great and no more oil smell. Installation seemed pretty easy.

Having broken the old (>40 years) gauge vial accidentally, I was very pleased to find a replacement that seems to be a perfect fit for the fuel level indicator on our old fuel tank.

As others have pointed out, this is an easy fix. Don't assume that you need to call your oil service company.I had a new oil tank installed exactly one year ago. Out of the clear blue, the sight glass - vial gauge broke off. I have no idea how, since I did not have an oil delivery, and I did not break it. I guess it is possible it was a critter.None the less, I assumed that when it broke off, and left the threads broken off in there, that I would need a service call. When I made an appointment, I was told it would be $125 service call plus the part. I figured since the tank was pretty new, they would have covered it.After I hung up, I decided to take a closer look. When I looked into where the threads were broken off, I noticed they were very loose. I simply unscrewed the broken plastic part.I searched and found that this item was available for my scully gauge. The description described my unit to a "T". "The item pictured fits Scully brand gauges, not OEM KING Gauges. If your gauge is about 3/4" dia. this is the correct one. If it is 1 3/8" dia, this is not the one." (And while the picture shows "OEM" at the top, the actual site gauge does not have any writing on it at all.)So, I ordered it and cancelled my tech visit, which was scheduled for the same day I received the part. It was an easy fix, so I post this for anyone who might feel intimidated.EDIT TO ADD: As a couple of others have mentioned, the lines do not exactly line up to the old vial. It's not off a lot, but I thought I should mention it.EDIT TO ADD: I cut a thin piece of electrical tape to match the old vial the best I could and took a picture.

Was very easy to replace an old faded gauge vial on an outside oil tank. Also it seemed to have a bit more internal clearance than the old vial, so the actual gauge red level marker moved smoother inside.
